This ought to be mindlessly simple: can I test for a string within another? Example: Finding "<ul>" case insensitive within dtml-myvar? Usage: On a news site, users sometimes put lists in the stories, and I need to sense them in order to cleanly break out of them when summary pages truncate the story thus: <h1>Wow New Product!</h1> <p>Our new product is great, it has:</p> <ul> <li>A titanium case</li> <li>Rugged carry-straps</li> <li>Elasticated ... How to determine name of the user (NT Domain)?

Problem: Intranet site, all users are logged into NT domain. How to determine loginname of the user? Authenticated_user is OK, but it brings another problem. How to use NT Domain authentication without changing anything for each new user? Mariusz

UserDB losing authentication information 'randomly'

Hi all, I have a site which is using userdb to authenticate. People authenticate happily and can use the material ok, but will get logged out pseudo-randomly. This is evidenced by someone clicking a link, then clicking it again and again (not rapidly). They will then get logged out after a randomly selected number of clicks. This is really weird - I've never come across this before using UserDB (1.3.0). This is on a Zope-2.2.4 and Zope-2.3.0 system under Python 1.5.2 with Solaris. If anyone has any clues please let me know as this is driving my user batty... problems with gvibDA and Python2.0

does anybody know how to use gvibDA with Python2.0? i untared gvibDA-0.9.6.tar.gz in the Zope-root. then i followed the steps of README. inside /lib/python/Products/gvibDA/gvib i configured Setup.in with the right path to IB and Python2.0. Then i did compiled it typing "make -f Makefile.pre.in boot" and "make". Everything went fine except the following message: read /usr/lib/python2.0/config/Setup.local /usr/lib/python2.0/config/Setup cat: /usr/lib/python2.0/config/Setup.thread: Datei oder Verzeichnis nicht gefunden ("could not open") and indeed there is no "/usr/lib/python2.0/config/Setup.thread". copying all the file into the python-lib path (as in README) and starting the interpreter i got: root@ariel:~ > python Python 2.0 (#1, Mar 1 2001, 02:42:21) [GCC 2.95.2 19991024 (release)] on linux2 Type "copyright", "credits" or "license" for more information. >>> import gvib Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in ?
