Hi all, PythonMethod product seems to not be well compliant with Zope 2.4.0. When I start my Zope, I have the following message: 2001-07-25T13:24:16 PROBLEM(100) Init Ambiguous name for method of Products.PythonMethod.PythonMethod.PythonMethod: "manage" != "manage_main" But it seems to work...

Hello, Oliver. I had the same problem when I moved from Linux to FreeBSD. To fix things, create a file named sysctl.conf in your /etc folder, and put the following line in it: kern.maxfiles=16384 This will ensure that your kernel can handle more open files the next time it boots. Get userobject from python

Hello, I am trying to find a way to find a user object from the user id in a python. Since I couldn't find anything in the Zope help I looked at the Membership tool from CMF. I looked as if I could try with this code: user_obj=self.acl_users.getUser(uname) But get an error saying that the user_obj is None (and therefor it can not find the object). Uname contains the correct Username ... Anyone who know how to get this object ??? Regards,

hmmm hello guys, i`ve installed zope with pcgi on freebsd 4.3 stable behind a apache server... when i wanna start it i become a kernel message : "file: table is full" how i can solve this problem? and i can`t connect to the zope management: access denied... hmm i had made a file named access with following parameters: admin:xxx and restarted zope but cant`t connect to zope management.. then i made a other file named inituser with user emergencyuser:xxx but nothing happens.. can anyone help me? thanks in advance Oliver Kaufmann

Newbie Password Frustration

Hello: I have the rpm of Zope 2.3.2-1 installed. Accessing http://localhost:8080 brings up a Zope page, so I'm assuming the basic install is good. What I cannot figure out for the life of me is how to pass the administration password. 1.) I have no knowledge of what the default was set to by the rpm install. I saw no message about this during the installation; 2.) Perhaps more to the point, I can't figure where, exactly, Zope is looking for this user/password data; 3.) I see the python scripts for changing passwords in /usr/share/zope/utilities. zpasswd.py -u superuser -p [passwd] access seems to work OK. It writes a lovely access file that looks a lot like /etc/passwd. So, I chmod it to 600 and restart zope and try again. Still no cigar; I have searched docs, etc--but nothing is getting me past this impediment. What am I doing wrong? Is the administrator user still defaulted to username 'superuser?' Do I create this as a system account on my linux system and put a password in /etcpasswd & /etc/shadow? If not, where does it need to be? Thanks in advance. Error messages in installation of Zope 2.4.0

I think I may have posted this originally to the wrong group, my apologies for any duplicates. When I install Zope 2.4.0 on RedHat 7.1 I get the following error messages. Otherwise Zope seems to run fine. Any ideas?
