Hey, I've got a bit of a silly question (I've never used STX, but might want to for some product documentation I will be working on): does STX have a PUT factory method within Zope to allow me to create a new STX doc (in, say, vi or a Win32 text editor) and drop it in via FTP or WebDAV? This would seemingly be the best way to get multiple authors (esp. ones not familiar with Zope) able to author and upload via WebDAV... Sean -----Original Message----- From: Carlson, Christopher W. Is there anything out there that can basically make it easy for a moron to publish to his/her part of the site? Nobody her knows what a <P> tag is for, etc...I'm trying to make it so that they simply create a text document, drop it in the right place (a folder) and then it's already up and running in zope, listed et al on the DB, in the search function, dynamically pulled online, etc... Any way to do that? I can't imagine anyone here logging into the Zope GUI and trying to figure out what to do next. I'd highly recommend checking out Structured Text. User Database

Hi...got another question. :) I see that Zope can create users very easily, but... Let's say I want to create a user database where people can sign up and get an account with free web space, email, etc..... How would I do that? Is it the same function as the acl_users object or is it something that has to be downloaded and scripted, etc? Thanks, Newbie Nat. :)

Does this work? Even if it didn't I bet that you could just use the .pyc files with dummy .py files created using touch and a file date older than the .pyc file. In theory, this would work, right? urlretrieve...strange behaviour

Hello, I have a very strange problem. I have a method that does at follows import urllib def storepages(base, TestIds): for testid in TestIds: url=base+testid try: urllib.urlretrieve (url, 'c:\Zope\BelenSite\images\Doc'+testid+'.html') finally: urllib.urlcleanup() If I run it through the DOS promt it works perfectly. It fetches some URLs, stores them where I say, and clears the local cache. If I try to use it as an external method in zope it does not work at all. Zope hangs...It hangs when executing this line >>> urllib.urlretrieve (url, 'c:\Zope\BelenSite\images\Doc'+testid+'.html'). I have tried urllib.urlopen(url) instead but it cannot be opened either I have created an alternative external method to test more. This one does not iterate through any list...I pass a single parameter and works to my surprise this works really fine. import urllib def storepage(base, TestIds): url=base+TestIds try: urllib.urlretrieve (url, 'c:\Zope\BelenSite\images\Doc'+TestIds+'.html') finally: urllib.urlcleanup() The only difference it is that instead of working with a list I pass a string. Hi, I keep getting this at aparently random intervals: File <COMObject SoftSEALVtk.SoftSEALVtkLocker>, line 2, in LockFile com_error: (-2147352567, 'Exception occurred.', (0, None, None, None, 0, -2147467259), None) Which has been decoded by the people who wrote the sealer as: > Decoding the big number as Hex, it is 80020009, which in Windows > means a problem reported by the dispatch facility saying that the > "storage control block address is invalid". zope.org weird management screen pbs

Hello, I'm managing my page at zope;org, ans weird things happens when after changing some properties, adding/mofiying objetcs, i get back to the OLD versions. Multiple reload, clear cache, does have NO effects. I use Opera 5.12 and IE 5.50.4522.1800 Any idea about this ? This seems quite a new behaviour since some days. Didier
