authentication problem

i have a python product which inhertis from ObjectManager. i programmatically create instances of this product within itself as they are requested by the user. the problem is that i am getting an 'unauthorized' exception when i try to access index_html of the programmatically created objects. the really odd thing is that it only happens SOMETIMES. i get this: Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Newbie Q:<dtml-with> and the PARENTS tag

Although I've searched all the How-Tos and Tips, I'm probably just missing something... I have a setup as follows: Root FolderA PropertyX FolderB PropertyX Method1 FolderC Method1 What I want to do is: for Method1, check the enclosing item for Property X. PropertyX could be either a property or a DTML Document (I realize these may be two separate cases). If PropertyX exists in/as a property of the Folderthat the Method is in, I want to execute some code; if it doesn't, then I don't want anything to happen. Here's what I started with: <dtml-with "PARENTS[0]" only> <dtml-if PropertyX> <dtml-var PropertyX> .....do some stuff... </dtml-if> </dtml-with> This doesn't work. Using the schema outlined above, both FolderB/Method1 and FolderC/Method1 return a PropertyX, but in the latter case it's the PropertyX from FolderA (of course....). So, does the 'only' option only restrict acquisition downward? Or what? This just doesn't jibe with how the docs describe the only option -- maybe there's something up with my Zope? Most importantly, how can I do what I need to do? I've tried plugging all kinds of expressions into the with tag, such as aq_explicit and aq_parent, but I'm not very familiar with Python and am probably doing it wrong. Really, I don't care how I solve this, so long as I do! I've tried about a ton of things and I can't get around Zope continuing to acquire upward irregardless of the 'only' modifier. When I tried it with <dtml-with PARENTS only> (no [0]), the if test fails in all cases. Yet in all of these cases, <dtml-var "PARENTS[0].id"> returns the id of the proper folder (FolderB, for example), so I know that PARENTS[0] is the place I want to look. Help!!!! Dtml-tree and manage_delObjects funny behavior Hi, I use dtml-tree to show a hierarchy of folders containing exclusively instances of, say,MyZClass. The user can use the tree structure to add and update MyZclass instances, which properties are set by acquisition. A funny thing happens when I try do delete an instance: the folder containing the instance "looses" the id showed on the tree (its path become something like 127.0.0.1/Cities//) and the actual object that I would like to delete is not destroyed at all! "> </form> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> When that strange behavior started, I wrote some code to show the actual "id" being used in <dtml-call "manage_delObjects(['id'])">, and it was the MyZclass instance id, so there is no problem with ids (I think!). I used this method as both a MyZclass method and as a method in my main folder (Cities). The behavior was the same... I had to delete the folder where I tried to delete the instance so that the tree could "remember" the real folder structure (that was not affected!) The folder structure is Cities City1 Category1 MyZclass1 MyZclass2 MyZclass3 ... Category2 MyZclass4 MyZclass5 MyZclass6 ... Category3 ... City2 ... City3 ... ... One more thing: how can I refresh the tree after deleting or adding an object? I mean, how can I redirect from the Add/Delete forms to the tree form and refresh the tree? Thanks in advance, Rogerio

CMF: extending MSWord Document product

Using Zope 2.3.1, I installed a product MSWordDocument from zope.org/Products--transparent conversion to HTML of any MSWord.doc. Once installed, I can add an instance of the product through the *local_host/manage* screen. Is there a way to extend this product that I can use it in my CMF portal? ZSyncer and bobobase_modification_time

For all those who were having problems with ZSyncer and bobobase_modification_time, I believe its because there isnt a bobobase_modification_time for broken products. So if you have any broken products, fix them (on both ends) and ZSyncer should work fine. I'll throw this patch into ZSyncer soon. Is there a sure fire if telling if an object is "broken"? You may need to assign a proxy role to the method with sufficient rights to perform the action. Z SQL Method Question

I am having a problem with Z SQL Method. I am sure it is user (me) error. I created an sql method called "insertUser" to insert users into a table. Everything tests fine within the manager. I tried to create a dtml document containing a form that has the action="insertUser". But when it submits, it prompts me for a password and redirects me to /insertUser/manage_testForm. I am not really sure how I should submit the form and call the insertUser method as an anonymous user outside of the manage interface. Thanks in advance for any help.
