Yellow ppl, I've managed to add and change users inside an acl_users folder. When trying to delete them I have no sucess though... I use this code: <dtml-with "folder1.folder2"> <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('name', form_variable)"> <dtml-call "acl_users.manage_users(submit='Delete', REQUEST=REQUEST)"> </dtml-with> acl_users folder is inside folder2. Python external method caching...

I'm still a beginner with zope and although I read lots of FAQ about Zope, I didn't find a solution to my problem : I use Zope-2.4.0 beta version (because I need Python 2.1) and I can't find how to associate a python external method with an "accelerated HTTP cache manager". When I try to associate files to this cache, it answers "Only those objects for which you have the "Change cache settings" permission are shown. " and I didn't find "change cache settings" parameter in external methods security section... (it runs well with DTML documents but I can't with external methods...) adding DTMLMethods to a python product

> Oh and you need to: > import Products > for it to work ;-) thanks. heh. i also spent alot of yesterday trying to figure out how to add DTMLMethods to my product so they appeared in the contents (so to be 'default' DTMLMethods that the user can override). i came up with something like: DTMLMethod.addDTMLMethod(self,'index_html','',open(os.path.join(Common.package_home(globals()),'dtml/index_html_Forum.dtml'))) there must be an easier way, but i don't know it. is there any way to wrap the created message in my class' aquisition space (i am not sure of the correct term)? -bob

Try removing all your own manage tabs and > just use the defaults from your parent classes. > like this: > manage_options = ObjectManager.manage_options\ > + RoleManager.manage_options > + Item.manage_options > If this gives you trouble, you should look elsewhere for your error. it did give me trouble. the solution was to remove 'meta_types' from my class and apparently inherit it from ObjectManager. the method ObjectManager.filter_meta_types was attempting to use .has_key('...') on my tuple of metatypes (which were strings). i am unclear as to where zope translates these strings to some other object. as for the manage_options, i used a bastardized version of the Folder class'. it works, but i am still unclear about the details. -bob

strange zcatalog problem

I have a ZCatalog that seems to lose all it's catalog info whenever I modify almost anything (including things that aren't cataloged), such that my queries that worked before the modification turn up empty after. If I rebuild the indices everything is as normal, but it's really annoying to have to do that after any change I make to anything! Has anyone seen anything like this? (This is Zope 2.3.3.) -- Tim Moore

I'm new to Zope. My understanding is that Zope and Medusa are threaded (as opposed to multi-process). Postgres help

I am running Postgres 7.1 version of postgres on linux mandrake. I use zope as a front end to postgres using the ZPyGreSQLDA-0-0-3 adapter. I would like to have my searches be case insensitive. I got the following out of the user manual: The keyword ILIKE can be used instead of LIKE to make the match case insensitive according to the active locale. This is not in the SQL standard but is a Postgres extension. The operator ~~ is equivalent to LIKE, and ~~* corresponds to ILIKE. There are also !~~ and !~~* operators that represent NOT LIKE and NOT ILIKE. All of these are also Postgres-specific. I tried to use the ILIKE keyword to match my patterns but I was not successfull...a parse error was returned each time.
