One of the problems with Zope is, that all the factsheets found on www.zope.com are targeted to technical people. Those management guys are used to read high-glossy papers like the one on http://www.obtree.com/c3_broch_e.pdf which is the way, a Zope decision-maker-targeted brochure should go too. I realized, that I have no chance to impress those Microsoft- and Obtree-used managers, when I use the official Zope factsheets only. Of course, I can create my own. 2.4.1b1 install -> no index_html in root folder?

Hi Zope 2.4.1b1, Python 2.1, Redhat 6.2 I set up zope in a seperate directory and created a site directory. I modified the start script to use INSTANCE_HOME for the site and ZOPE_HOME for the Zope tree. Everything started ok, but via the browser there is no index_html in the root folder. at http://host:8080 If I go to the management screen http://host:8080/manage it appears to work. the standard_html_header/footer documents are Ok. any ideas why index_html is missing? Zope for dvd online shop

Hello,, I like your advice to know when it's a good soluiton to use Zope to make an online shop wich sell dvd. I'll have 2600 differents dvd. I think, i'll use Zclasses for each DVD. Is it a good solution mainly for processing time when sorting DVD by actor or genre or ... How (Where) can I store user specific data? I am developing a product in python (Multible Choice Test) and want to store some data for every user (Results of the tests). For Win98 it is a "image/vnd.dwf", but zope don't know what to do with this. How I setup this mime type in zope? I can't find a way to do that. create File object from Python Script?

O.k., I'm stumped. I've been looking over old messages and source code, but I haven't come to enlightenment on creating a File from a string. I can only create one from an uploaded file. I thought maybe I was on to something with using StringIO, but that's not allowed. I'd greatly appreciate a pointer to anything that might get me started. Thank you. --kyler
