I'm looking for message board system for Zope similar to the Ultimate Bulletin Board ("UBB") and all of its clones that are written mostly in Perl and PHP. Is there one out there for Zope? I'm not interested in a simple threaded-message list. The UBB style is the one I want. Is there one out there written in Python that can be used with Zope? Is it possible to easily port or link in a non-Python/non-Zope solution? Thanks for any suggestions. -- Herb Sitz, Seattle, WA

problem with authorisation using webdav/HTMLDocument

Hi all, I am having a weird problem with authorisation using webdav and the HTMLDocument product. The problem: ------------ When I create a new document in say Netscape composer, publish it, I am asked for a username and password, ..... everything works fine. When I then browse to this page it is there, I can edit it, and republish it as above .......... all beautiful so far. The problem is that when I then edit this page but enter an invalid username/password on publish ........ it publishes anyway. The interesting things I noted: ------------------------------- If I enter an invalid username/password on creation of a new file I am given an 'authorisation failed' message. (as expected) If I enter an invalid username/password on editing a DTMLDocument I am given an 'authorisation failed' message. (also as expected). In the security tab of the root folder I can set roles that can 'Add HTML Documents', but there is no corresponding 'Change HTML Documents' available on the list. Questions: ---------- Has anyone else seen this problem? Can anyone tell me if it is likely to be a problem with HTML Document or with the way my Roles are defined? Should there be a 'Change HTML Documents' option on the Permissions list? Sorry if this is vague, is there any other info I can give? I am running Zope 2.3.2 on linux, with HTMLDocument 0.2 If anyone has ANY suggestions, please help :( TIA, Joe. How to know if a user already exists?

I have a form with two fields, one to write a login and the other for the password. When the anonymous user pushs the submit button I will create a new user with the id and password written. But I want to know, before doing this action, if the login already exists in the folder 'acl_users'. I tried with the function 'has_key' but it didn't work. If anyone has do it before, please send me the answer. Thank you.

Hello, I'm working with installing this, but so far, no good. I get a broken box icon in the Zope Control Panel, for this item. Essentially, the lines property would be a container of id's of objects available to the object having the lines container. I can load the id's into the lines property (that is easy). However, does anyone know of the DTML code needed to sequentially list each of the elements in the lines property (which is a Python list) and then call that object to obtain and then display the title corresponding to the object id? Here they are, one by one. <dtml-in cases> <A HREF="<dtml-var sequence-item>"><dtml-var sequence-item></A> </dtml-in> But the above code only lists the id's, not the titles to the id's (which would be easier for the user to understand). Then I tried this... I'm considering using a DTML document having a lines property that stores id's of related objects (i.e., objects where there is to be a user-defined relation). Essentially, the lines property would be a container of id's of objects available to the object having the lines container. I can load the id's into the lines property (that is easy). However, does anyone know of the DTML code needed to sequentially list each of the elements in the lines property (which is a Python list) and then call that object to obtain and then display the title corresponding to the object id? The following some pseudo-Python, I make no pretense that this is syntactically correct DTML. It's not pretty, but I think it illustrates what I'm looking for. Note, there is a DTML document with a lines property called "my_related_objects" <dtml-in my_related_objects> # Get the item at this point in the list (lines)... <dtml-var my_related_objeccts[item]> # call that object and get its title and absoluteURL and list as a hyperlink. <A HREF="<dtml-var my_related_objects[item]>"><dtml-var my_related_objects[item].title></A> </dtml-in> Is something like that possible?
