<dtml-whois> tag don't work

Hi, i tried ti install whoistools on my zope 2.3.0 but i found an error in the source of whois.py at the sock.connect line which was sock.connect(server, port) i correct it with sock.connect((server, port)) and it started ti run in python. But wher i try to use it from the <dtml-whois> tag i gat everytime : Unexpected tag, for tag <dtml-whois "'internic.net'">, on line 1 of ppp I see that the Zope don't list the prodects in the control panel under Products. Zope / LocalFS ??? PDF files.

Hi there, When a user "uploads" a pdf file using localfs to the server, Zope or LocalFS cuts the file so that just a fraction of the file is stored on the server. All other filetypes are stored OK it is just PDF's that get "trimmed". I'm running Zope 2.3 on a NT-box servicepack 6. Clues anyone ??? With kind regards Fred Rubinstein.

slow access

how come after half a day of testing the website suddenly slows down? and sometimes the server just slows down on its access. we have a link to a mysql database. i notice that if i visit a root folder that doesn't have a database connection it is fast. is that it? how do i make it consistent in its speed? thanks. Thanks Eric, I have solved part of my problem =) I have a new problem now. After the form is being process I have a list ['1','2','3']. how do I get rid of the bracket and single quotes because I only need 1,2,3 as the argument to my sqlmethod. If I understand your question, you need something like this in your SQL: SELECT * FROM data WHERE index IN (1, 3, 5, 7, 11); You can then use that list to populate the list of "indexes" used in the SQL IN clause. I think the <dtml-sqltest> tag will do the iteration over the list for you. Check out the "Dynamic SQL Queries" section of the Zope Book for more details. ZMySQLDA

I tried to install ZMySQLDA according to the very well written installation instructions. On a RedHat 7.0 system with installed MySQL mysql-server-3.23.32, mysql-devel-3.23.32 and mysql-3.23.32 client program and shared library. Installed Zope is 2.32 (binary release, python 1.5.2, linux2-x86), Python Version 1.5.2 (#10, Dec 6 1999, 12:16:27) [GCC 2.7.2.3]. Sorry if it's FAQ, but I can't find answer neither on google nor on zope.org. How to check file existance?! I want to upload file, but I don't know if it exists. So: <dtml-call "PARENTS[0].manage_delObjects('filename')"> <dtml-call "PARENTS[0].manage_addFile('filename',file,title=REQUEST['title'])"> If I omit manage_delObjects, file will be uploaded once, then zope barks. If I place manage_delObjects, the file HAVE to exist before I upload. Now how to write this code in a such way that it would handle uploads in any case? -- Roman V. REF CURSOR variables and Zope Stored Prodcedures in Oracle

Can someone help me? I have a package with a procedure like that: PACKAGE test_pkg IS TYPE rc_assuntos IS REF CURSOR PROCEDURE GETALL(result IN OUT rc_assuntos); END; PACKAGE BODY TEST_PKG IS PROCEDURE GETALL(result IN OUT rc_assuntos) IS BEGIN OPEN result FOR SELECT tema_primario FROM ASSUNTOS; END END; As you can see this procedure has as input/output variable type a REF CURSOR. I have created a ZSP to use the function above: ZSP description: procedure TEST_PKG.GETALL has arguments: RESULT IN OUT REF CURSOR I cold not test it because it asked for a cursor as input. So... I tried to use an Python Script like that to pass and receive a cursor for this ZSP: """ teste NO PARAMETERS LIST. """ db= context.Oracle_database_connection # use my current Oracle conection. Is it correct? c= db.cursor() # create a cursor object dbsproc = context.ZOSP2(c) # call mu ZSP and pass the cursor object rs=c.fetchall() # get the result set and use it print rs When I run this Script I have the folloing error: Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: cursor So what is wrong? What can I do to receive a REF CURSOR type from a ZSP from ZOPE? Or getting a REF CURSOR type from an Oracle procedure using ZOPE? Is there an easier way? Can I use External Method? Ricardo, first off all, stop sending HTML messages to this list. Thanks. Basically, the ZOracle Stored Procedure object returns a list containing the OUT parameters of your procedure. So when you have a Oracle Procedure like: procedure test ( p_claim_id in varchar2 ,p_cursor out cur_general ,p_error_code out number ); calling the ZOracle Stored Procedure (ZSP) from DTML will return a list containing 2 items. The first will contain a DCO2 cursor object, the second item will be the numeric errorcode. In DTML, you can use the cursor just like from python, as long as you put it into an expression. Example: <dtml-in expr="spTest()[0].fetchall()"> <li><dtml-var expr="_['sequence-item'][0]> </dtml-in> This will print a list with the values of the first column of each row. It could be that the syntax of the dtml-var tag could be less hairy, but I just started using Zope, and I know this syntax works for me. Folder Access

Does Zope have a feature which allows users who have rights to ceratin folders to login at say "http;//zopehost:port/manage", and then open up all the folders they have rights to. What I would like to avoid is having to tell users that since they have rights to the folder1 and folder2, to be able to access these folders, they have to go to "http://zopehost:port/folder1/manage" for folder1 and "http://zopehost:port/folder2/manage" for folder2.
