Checkbox and SQL Method

Hi, I am having trouble parsing a list that I got from a form. My clients can select as many check boxes as they wish. When process the form, the program needs to be able to display all the information that the clients requested base on the check boxes. So far I can only display the information if the client only select one checkbox. The program will fail if the clients select more than one checkbox. I believe the problem was that my sqlmethod does not recognized the list that has been sent in. If I get a list of input values for the argument of my sql method from the check box, how do I call the sqlmethod to repeatedly display them. My sqlmethod only has one argument. Apache + Zope

hi, How to Run Apache + zope without editing httpd.conf file and Rewrite Rule. is there any possible to run both zserver and pcgi same time. so if i want to go to management Interface using URL http://hostname:8080/ and run site directly http://hostname/cgi-bin/zope.cgi/testsite both at same time. our ISP provide is suggesting about Zope binding. i Compiled and installed Zope2.4 in our ISP. and copied Zope.cgi to /cgi-bin/ i got confused without starting zope service. if u call the URL http://hostname/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi the zope Welcome came and helpsys is working. but i am not able to login in. if i try to start zope service ------ 2001-08-09T21:58:20 PANIC(300) z2 Startup exception Traceback (innermost last): File /kunden/homepages/43/d30462294/htdocs/zopedemo/z2.py, line 564, in ? XRON enhancement suggestion

XRON is designed such that when the server is restarted any jobs in queue are reviewed and sent when the server comes up. This is normally desireable behavior. However it can lead to problems under the scenario of desktop use of Zope or after extended downtime of a server. If Zope is started after an extended downtime and repetitive jobs are scheduled for short intervals, the same job will be fired multiple times on start-up. In some cases this is undesirable. For Example: I have a number of items for sale on Ebay that I want to track their progress while I am on the road. I've decided to use Zope as a desktop scheduler. I set up a xron job to use sendmail to alert me every 30 minutes to my current Ebay auctions status to be sent to my cellphone's email feature. I shut down Zope for the evening so that I won't get the alerts overnight. I restart Zope in the morning so that I will get alerts throughout the day. XRON detects the active job and fires it. XRON reschedules the job for 30 minutes later and continues to refire until the time is current. This results in 25 duplicate messages to the phone. Suggested Solution: For jobs that require some assurrance of multiple firing (counters, timed logging, etc.) the refire is desireable. For jobs that send current data or perform a function which is not intended to be run in rapid fire (database pack, database swaps, email alerts, etc.) the refire is not wanted. Addition of a parameter that controls the rescheduling time behavior should solve this problem. A simple checkbox, "reschedule to future only" or some such. XRON can check the current system time when this box is checked and if the intended reschedule time is in the past, continue to increment it per the interval until the new target time is in the future. Hi Todd, Id suggest you grab a copy of the Zope book! Newbie still having problems understanding namespaces

I'm sure this is a case of RTFM, but I think I may be reading the wrong FM! Looking at the DTML reference section n the Zope Book (PDF version) on page 228, I see a set of DTML functions which I had assumed I could call, for example: <dtml-var expr="abs(-23)"> which I would have expected to evaluate to 23. Instead I get the error: Error Type: NameError Error Value: global name 'abs' is not defined. I guess this is because abs is not in the current nemespace. My question is where is the documentation that tells me which namespace to use and when? TIA Dave Lambert

Fixing Couldn't load state error

Hi Todd, I've never tried to use a limit (yet) but the dtml-in syntax includes an 'end=n' (<dtml-in get_story end=5>) parameter that may do what you want (I'm not sure what it does :). If that doesn't work, check out the Zope Book for details on DTML in. Also, if your "get_story" list is generated from a SQL, it will likely be more efficient to let the SQL call limit the results so that Zope doesn't have to.
