Need help with a syntax error

I have the following line of code inside a <dtml-in>: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('tqry',Query.PoRpt.Aug01POquery(pormth=tpormth,pmth=07,pyear=20 01,sellid=_['sequence-item']))"> If I change the pmth variable to pmth=08 and try to save I get a syntax error. I only changed the 7 to an 8. That is the only character in the file I changed. Any help would be greatly appreciated. If you need more of the code to diagnose I'll be happy to send a larger peice of the code but this is a very large file and I do not want to send the whole thing. the traceback I get is the following: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Starting zope from a python script

Hi All... I'm trying to write a Python script to control zope, basically it creates the instance home etc and so on and then fires up zope, checks for z2.pid and then prods zope and does some things to it... Thats all ok, fine etc... but I am writing a script that reverses the process if anything fails (it should never fail, but while I'm looking after it, things will inevitably go wrong) so... I want to be able to kill the Zope processes... Simple me thinks, I am using a -u to set the user so I can kill all the threads belonging to that user and the thing will die?? No, not quiet, the process that started the Zope instance keeps restarting it (most of the time this sounds like a great option but...) So I want to keep hold of the parent process ID so I can kill that, I think something like os.spawnv will let me do it, but it doesn't work under Linux :-( seems to be doze only... Anyone got any good ideas how to do this... I've just thought I can follow the parent PID links back from the user process, so that would be one way... Will go and try that, if anyone has any better (neater?) solutions I'd be grateful... Cheers Chris K

Problems with zclass and instances!!

Hi there: I have created a product 'X' with a zclass call 'X1'. This X1 zclass in the propertysheet has a Common Instance Property Sheet called 'section' (/Control_Panel/Products/X/X1/propertysheets/common/section), with some properties with default values: ie. one of it's property is call ed 'section1' with the default value 'left side', the type of this property is 'string': section1 'left side' string Then in the views of the zclass I 've added a method "propertysheets/section/manage", so when I create an instance I can enter to this propertysheet. So the problem is here: When I create an instance of this 'X1' zclass an I enter to this propertysheet/section , I can change the default value of 'section1' which was 'left side' to 'center side' for example. But then if i change the original default value of my zclass 'X1' to 'right side' let say. The change will not be reflected in my instance, which is okey because i have change d the value to 'center side' before. Another case is when I create another instance of 'X1' zclass without making any change to the value of 'section1' and click on save changes, then if I change the default value in the zclass, the change will not be reflected in this instance. So the question is: There is a way to recognize when an instance will not take the changes that are make to the default values of a propertysheets (in this case thepropertysheet 'section' ) of a zclass from which they inheritance? I try with this lines in an external method, but nothing: self=self._getOb('instanceTest') # instanceTest is the name of the instance of the 'X1 Zclass' a=getattr(self,'meta_type') b=getattr(self.__class__,'meta_type') # in this example the answer was the same: X1 a=eval('self.__class__.propertysheets.section._propertyMap()') b=eval('self.propertysheets.section._propertyMap()') # the answer was again the same: {'id': 'section1', 'type': 'string','meta': {}, 'mode': 'w'} #I try acceding to the zclass to know if it was different from theinstance... a=eval('self.Control_Panel.Products.X.propertysheets.common.section.propertyMap()') # the answer not help: {'id': 'section1', 'type': 'string', 'meta': {}}, I cannot found any property or something that help me... Bind error on Server Startup

I am trying to get Zope 2.3.3 up and running on a Sun server running the latest OS. I can start it up fine on port 8080 (or all ports I tried above 7000). However, I am unable to start it up on any lower ports (including port 80). The traceback message I get points the following def block in asyncore.py. def bind (self, addr): self.addr = addr return self.socket.bind (addr) The specific error I get is "bind error: (13, 'permission denied'). I have talked to the sys admin and everything is set correctly as far as access to bind or any other network resources are concerned. There are NO other resources on port 80 on this system. Anyone had similiar problems??

Newbie question

I am currently browsing the API Reference section of the Zope book and am trying simple examples. I am puzzled as to how various methods may be accessed from dtml. For instance the line: <dtml-var expr="getSize()"> works fine, but: <dtml-var expr="dow()"> (which I would have expected to return the day of week) gives an error Obviously I am confused. Could somebody try and put me on the right tracks! TIA Dave.

How do I connect to a PostgreSQL database?

All, I am trying to establish a connection to a PostgreSQL database but have had no luck with getting the database adapter to list in the "add" drop down. I really need a recommendation on which database adapter to use (it's for a help desk application) and how to install it in Zope. I tried a couple of them from the Zope products page but no luck. How to install zope with apache--by writing rewrite rule in .htaccess(URGENT)

Hai, we have a problem here.Our customer has a site already running in apache and we have to add the zope to it ,so that we can develop some good content management system for them. Main issue is,the client is running site on ISP and he says he has access only to ".htaccess file" and he cannot modify http.conf file.I know that we can have zope running with apache using rewrite rule on http.conf file.Infact it is working fine in our place. Is there way to do the same with out modifying http.conf file and using .htaccess file. This is very urgent, If any body knows answer ,please reply to me soon.
