How did you install the Python 2.1? Did it come from RPM? If not, that's okay - you can force the Zope RPM to ignore its perceived need for the python2 RPM: rpm -ivh --nodeps zope.i386.rpm (forgot exact RPM name) Alternately, you can get the python2 RPM from python.org and install it - then the Zope RPM should be happy. ZBabel 2.4.1-compatible release

The CVS version of ZBabel, the internationalization tool for Zope, is now working with Zope 2.4.1 (supposedly also 2.4.0). Same problem here. But I think that the problem is elsewhere because I don't have any problem to manage my personal folder on zope.org with OmniWeb. Maybe the problem is authenticating an user when there is a port number in the URL. Or the way zope.org does the authentication is more friendly that the authentication window. I have tried to run zope on a port 80 but Python refused to bind the port and I'm sure that Apache is not running. It seems that Mac OS X protects some resources. By the way, iCab has exactly the same problem and yet, it works with the personal folder. Dominique

Can not add photofolder programmatically

Hi there, I am trying to add a photofolder by help of a script. context.manage_addProduct['ZipFolder']..... works as does context.manage_addProduct['Photo'] where context.manage_addProduct['PhotoFolder ']... does not. I get an error Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: PhotoFolder How comes? thanks for your typs Robert

Hello, I need to figure out a start time for an object from two other start times. I have made myself a little Python Script inside Zope to test this (because I don't know exactly how this works). So I created myself two variables: d1 = DateTime('14:55').timeTime() d2 = DateTime('15:00').timeTime() time = d2 - d1 return DateTime(time).Time() This gives me an output of 01:05:00 when I expected 00:05:00. what is it I don't get ?? Problem with ThumbNail Image

Hi all I would like to create a thumbnail from a jpeg file. Here is the fonction i use : def ThumbNail(self): import Image, os, sys texte = "ok" img = Image.open("essai.jpg") img.thumbnail((50, 50)) img.save('essaiThumbnail.jpg', "JPEG") return texte The file "essai.jpg" is in the Zope directory. It works very well from the Python command line, but it doesn't work when i use it in an external method. Zope finds the file but this error is raised : (i'm using Zope 2.4 win32 - Python 2.1 - PIL 1.1.1) Error Type: IOError Error Value: cannot identify image file .... Problems in updating ZClass instance property sheets

Hi, In general, the problems concerns updating properties in propertysheets belonging to certain ZClass. We have a dtml-document called "UserRegistration" and a python script called "registerUser". The dtml doc is a form that is filled in with user data. Then the script is called to proccess the data. We are using the standard acl_users for storage of user data. Because we want to have some additional information in the user object (and the acl_user can not be extended with more properties), we are using a product called "userinfo folder" found on www.zope.org. For each acl_user, there will be a zclass instance of UserInfo class in the userinfo folder. So when acl_users.manage_user(...) is run, a userinfo for this object will also be created. The problem appears when we want add the additional information in the userinfo object with the method manage_editProperties. The property belongs to a propertysheet. We get the following error message "you are not authorized to access propertysheets" even though our user is a manager with all rights. And the funny thing is that if we restart the server it executes one time but following attempts fail.
