Ok, good, I just wanted to be sure I haven't missed anything. http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Articles/ZODB2 http://www.amk.ca/zodb/guide/node36.html These two may refer to the standalone Zodb, but I couldn't find PersistentList there either. What's the type of something marshalled to a "record"?

Hi all Short version of my question: how do I know when a form variable has been marshalled to a record? _.same_type(var, ????) Long version: If I do this: <p> <input name="properties_to_show.ContactPerson:record:list" type="checkbox" value="id"> id <br> <input name="properties_to_show.ContactPerson:record:list" type="checkbox" value="Category"> Category [...] I can successfully do this: <dtml-let p2s="REQUEST.form['properties_to_show']"> <dtml-in "p2s.keys()"> <dtml-var sequence-item> </dtml-in> </dtml-let> But if I do this: <dtml-let p2s="REQUEST.form['properties_to_show']"> <dtml-if "_.same_type(p2s, {})"> it's a dict! <dtml-elif "_.same_type(p2s, p2s)"> it's it! </dtml-if> </dtml-let> then I get "it's it!" instead of "it's a dict!". what is my realname?

Hi all, Sorry, this has got to be stupidly obvious, but I just can't seem to work it out... this is my first attempt at anything other than simple dtml scripting! I've set up exUserFolder so that I can log in and out, etc, and I've restricted access to the "add new record" page (all this is working off a MySQL Db). So, I want to store the username of the user in the Db. I have a user "greg", the user has a property "realname", surely I must simply be able to at least display this? (using I would presume the <dtml-var var> tag). I've tried the following syntax but had no luck so far! <tr><td>Username:</td><td><dtml-var expr="acl_users.realname.values()"></td></tr> <tr><td>Username:</td><td><dtml-var expr="realname.values()"></td></tr> <tr><td>Username:</td><td><dtml-var expr="REQUEST.values('realname')"></td></tr> But none of it works. I'm very much a "learn from somebody else's example" kind of guy, but I've been searching for hours and cannot seem to find an example! Hi guys, short question. Is there a last login method/function already implemented in Zope or do I have to write it myself. I want to have something like "username last login 25.01.02". If I have to do it myself, can you give me some hints? kind regard Damir

Photo product old -> new

I have lots of Photo objects using the old Photo product (v.0.4). Now I want to start to use the new one (v.1.2.3). Does anybody have a suitable script or something for converting them since the two products don't work together. My current standing solution is to convert the Photos to Images and then reinstall the Photo product and convert from Images to Photos again. Cheers, Peter

restart and shutdown button

Hi! When I click into Control Panel, and click restart or shutdown button, it doesn't work and post an error message. Why? I am using 2.4.3 from source release, python 2.1.1, and linux system. Persistent DynPersist

Hi; Okay, I exported everything out of my old Zope Data.fs, completely rebuilt Zope and imported everything back into Data.fs. Now, I have this amazing problem. Seems that Zope can't import EMarket because there's no module named DynPersist. But it *does* import ZPatterns (a la TransactionAgents), er, rather, it imports ZPatterns as_long_as EMarkets is in the mix. If I remove the EMarkets module from Products lo and behold ZPatterns can no longer be imported and breaks! It just gets weirder and weirder. Here's a couple of tracebacks. Gosh, I hope this problem dies soon. ConflictError (ID-Counter for all Documents)

I am developing a simple Document Management System with a python product. All documents are in one folder. If a new document gets created I do the following: root.last_id=root.last_id+1 If I stress test this with httperf I get ConflictErrors. I searched and found two solutions: Catch the Exception, and retry it. Use PCounter from ZODB/test/ConflictResolution.py Are there other, better solutions? Which one is better? thomas
