Why not consider ReportLab, a Python library for doing just this kind of thing? script to create tuple of Objects

I am using Formulator(which requires a tuple) to create a list of objects and still learning python scripts. and stuck. I am trying to create a master script to exist in Root that will create a list of objects from a Folder with a given ObjectType. like zClasses, DTML_Methods, or DTML_Docs. script- tuple_of_items called in Override ##parameters=myFolder, myObjectType results=[] for object in container.myFolder.objectValues('myObjectType'): tuple = object.title, object.id results.append(tuple) return results in the Items Override I enter>> tuple_of_items('idofTargetFolder','DTML_Method') I get an attribute error. Please help me with what I have missed? If I dont pass the parameters and hardcode in the script: The form renders properly, but on Submit, I get the error>> unknown_selection You selected an item that was not in the list. finding the owner of an object

Greetings, I need to find out if a user owns a particular object. More specifically, I would like to present some HTML if the user is the owner of the current page. Something like: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('userName',_.SecurityGetUser().getUserName())"> <dtml-with owner_info mapping> <dtml-if "userName == id"> Write some html </dtml-if> </dtml-with> This works fine if the user is a manager, however if not, I get: Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Unauthorized You are not authorized to access owner_info. Is there a security setting that I need to change? Or is there a better way of doing this? Thanks, Steve

Problem with VirtualHostMonster response

I have a strange problem. To access Zope I use an apache rewrite rule: <VirtualHost 192.168.1.2:80> DocumentRoot /var/www/hosts/www.dbde.nl/ ServerName www.dbde.nl RewriteEngine On ReWriteRule ^/zope(.*) http://www.dbde.nl:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.dbde.nl:80/dbde/VirtualHost Root/$1 </VirtualHost> This process works fine. I have a VirtualHostMonster in my Zope root, and the folder dbde is present. When I type the URL www.dbde.nl/zope i get directed to the right directory, but not all the content can be displayed and the URL is not rewritten in the webpage that is the result. It is: http://www.dbde.nl:8080/VirtualHostBase/http/www.dbde.nl:80/dbde/VirtualHost Root/. Apparantly Zope can interpret the VirtualHostRoot but not the other part. You can try it for yourself on the link above. I already tried a complete new install of Zope, but to no avail. What is the cause of this and how can it be solved? Regards, Ewoud de Boer

mysql database difficulties: creating tables with zope

I'm just learning to use Zope. I've set it up, created some working sites, and love it. Now I'mt rying to make it work with a new mysql database (so my problem could very well be with the configuration of the database!) I would appreciate any help! I was working through an example and tried to create a table (using the "test" screen in zope): CREATE TABLE users ( user_id char(25) NOT NULL, cpasswd char(25) NOT NULL, Id int(11) DEFAULT '0' NOT NULL auto_increment, PRIMARY KEY (user_id), KEY Id (Id) ); and get the following error: Error Type: sql.error Error Value: ('42000', 1064, "[TCX][MyODBC]You have an error in your SQL syntax near ';\n' at line 7") I seem to get this error (esp the part about ;\n ) when I try to create a table. I can view tables, and otherwise test the database. thanks for any help! Photo Product: Can't convert images.

Hi, I'm using the Photo Folder product, and I'm trying to convert a number of jpg's by using the "Python Script" shown in the README.txt for the product: """Convert all Image objects in folder to Photo objects""" for image in context.objectValues(['Image']): context.manage_delObjects([image.getId(),], REQUEST=context.REQUEST) context.manage_addProduct['Photo'].manage_addPhoto(image.getId(), image.title, image.data, REQUEST=context.REQUEST) I get the following error when calling the Image2Photo script on the folder: Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: 'string' object has no attribute 'read'  And line 654 in Photo.py is photo._data = file.read() in manage_addPhoto python method. I'm using ExtFile and the ImageMagick engine. Can anyone see what I'm doing wrong, or what I need to fix? Thanks Regards Mark Simpson

FYI: KDE CVS has WebDAV support now!

Hi! Thanks to Hamish Rodda, KDE 3 will finally support WebDAV! What does that mean for Zope users? In KDE 3, You'll basically have a simple Zope IDE and Content Management tools for free: You can log into your Zope server via WebDAV in Konqueror, and use any KDE-aware editor to create, edit, and upload code and content! This is even better than using Zope on the Windows plattform, as WebDAV/Webfolders are not integrated the same way WebDAV will be in KDE (i.e. seamless open and save from ANY KDE program). Open the "index.htm" file in a folder

I am trying to setup navigation on my site. I want to open a default page when you go into a subfolder (like a default or index.htm). When I try this, it just shows the DocRoot file. Example: root index.htm | | |------------- | | | SubFolder1 | index.htm | | |------------- | SubFolder2 index.htm |------------- | SubSubFolder1 index.htm When I go to SubFolder1 or SubSubFolder1 I go back to the root index.htm. Why is it doing this rather than opening the index.htm? Thanks -Allen
