Error messages not being displayed by proxy

We are running Webthority to secure access to our server. It works fine except that if there is an error, then instead of getting the error message from Zope, we get an error screen from the proxy. i.e: Webthority Error: Unable to retrieve content at this time. Please contact your administrator if this problem persists Error 503 from server I guess that this is because Zope sets something in the header to say that it is an error rather than just normal html, which the proxy intercepts. Is this the case, and if so, is it possible to set something so that errors get displayed as normal html pages? Help on __before_publishing_traverse__.

When a user tries to access the page, and the date range is outside the permitted range, it gets a login screen. But then is the following problem: I have a dtml-in that lists the documents inside this folder, and i want it not to list the document which is outside the range. But i want to do this based on the permission. For what i know, the permission to access the properties of the document is "Access content information". But the strange thing is that the __before_publishing_traverse__ code is run, the permissions are set ok but the document keeps listing, except when i click the security tab. Then, suddenly the document isnt listed anymore. I think that im missing some operation that the security tab performs to make the permissions begin to work. Can anybody help me? Anyone know of a method that gets accessed when i access a property, so i can hook my code on the right place?? Excuse me for writing a book, but i wanted to keep it clear. Why no protection for PageTemplateFile?!

Hi, Here's my class class Dummy: .... __roles__ = ['Authenticated', 'Owner', 'Manager'] p_view = PageTemplateFile('F:/zope2/lib/.../view.zpt', globals()) d_view = HTMLFile('F:/zope2/lib/.../view.html', globals()) .... Globals.InitializeClass(Dummy) I think I've shut off anonymous access to p_view and d_view. But to my surprise, p_view goes unchecked on Zope 2.5.0b4, no authentication at all! CMF portal question

Hi All, I am new to CMF, and am wondering if it gives one the 'portlet' like capabilities of something such as Jetspeed, where you can create small windows which encapsulate services or access to specific data or functionality. I read through most of the docs, and haven't quite found this part. I see how it's like Slashdot, but i am looking for the service windows... Found it, I downloaded the new version of zmysqlda but when I installed I used the old one (not compatible with 090 of mysql-python) Put the right one in and it works fine. Found it by doing a double check of my steps, all the notes and qa paid off I quess. Thanks anyway. Relational Philosophy

I'm working on writing an app in Zope and would like to try using the Zope object database exclusively. The problem I run into is how to best go about modeling relational data. For instance, I might have a list of courses and a list of students. If I create a course object and put student objects under it, I'll end up with duplicate student objects as students are in more than one course: Basketweaving Trent Eve Alice Object-Relational Modeling 101 Bob Trent Alice Obviously if I do it the other way around, and put courses inside student objects, I have the same problem. I need to do a many-to-many relationship. So do I just start using object IDs as pointers to objects separate hierarchies? mysql and zope.

Hi, I have a windows NT 4.0 sp6 box with Apache, Docushare, zope, m2crypto, openssl, mysql loaded. Docushare uses it's own hacked and useless version of python 1.5.1 so I had to virtuallise zope using srvany and cmd, with the PYTHONPATH env variable set to null. I had to install a fresh python 2.1 to install MySQL-python-0.9.1.win32-py2.1 from the windows binary install. I then copied the files that were changed or added and the MySQLdb directory to the zope/lib/python directory. I added the products mysqluserfile and zmysqlda to zope and restarted zope. mysqluserfile works but zmysqlda is listed as broken. help? Mike.

Hi Don't use Solaris. There is a problem with the Zope threading. Zope seems top run as if it were singlethreaded. I havn't seen a solution jet (and I'm not the hacker that could come up with one). I'll probably switch my production Solaris to Linux or FreeBSD sometime soon. NT-Zope also seems to be free of this problem.
