xmDateTime Substitute for Zope?

An application has need for the RelativeDateTime() feature of mxDateTime. However, if one tries (in a python script)... from mx.DateTime import * .. Zope returns an error message indicating that the attempted import was unauthorized. Does anyone know of a substitute? Or how the problem could be circumvented? What I'm really looking for is a way to calculate the date 20 months from now(). mxDateTime has a handy feature for that, which would simply be: LaterDate = now() + RelativeDateTime(months=+20) Would this be possible via an External Method or is there a way for Zope to do the arithmatic without needing mxDateTime? Mystified by failed variable lookups

I have some DTML code that looks like this: ----- <dtml-let version="'2.0'"> version: <dtml-var version> <tr> <td width="100%" class="displayinfo"><dtml-in list_Dependencies><dtml-var sso_data></dtml-in></td> </tr> </dtml-let> ----- "list_Dependencies" is a SQL Method that calls a MySQL database. The query for list_Dependencies is: ----- SELECT sso_data FROM SSOData,ProjectNames WHERE proj_name='<dtml-var description sql_quote>' AND proj_id=sso_id AND sso_field="Dependencies" AND sso_version='<dtml-var version sql_quote>' ----- Ugly, eh? You'll note that I'm using the dtml-var "description" in the query; this is a defined property of the containing Folder object. If I do a lookup only using the 'description' property all is well; however, the SQL Method can NEVER find the 'version' variable if it is defined by FORM data (or even using dtml-let, as above). I get a KeyError. What am I not understanding here? Is there some difference between explicit properties (like those declared in the Properties page of a folder) versus FORM data or a variable declared using dtml-let? Invalid Literal for Int()

Hi; I have a form in which I create a variable like this: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('shipping',_.int(subtotal)*.05)"> <input type=hidden name=shipping value=<dtml-var shipping>> which is successfully used in said form like this: <dtml-if shipping> <tr> <td>px verdana">Shipping:</td> <td>px verdana"><dtml-var shipping fmt=dollars-and-cents></td> </tr> </dtml-if> but when I try to render it in the form to which I pass it like this: <dtml-if shipping> <tr> <td>px verdana">Shipping</td> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td>px verdana"><dtml-var shipping fmt=dollars-and-cents></td> </tr> </dtml-if> it doesn't render at all! So I try something sneaky like this: <dtml-if shipping> <dtml-let shippingit="shipping+0.00"> <tr> <td>px verdana">Shipping</td> <td> </td> <td> </td> <td>px verdana"><dtml-var shippingit fmt=dollars-and-cents></td> </tr> </dtml-let> </dtml-if> and I get this error: Error Type: ValueError Error Value: invalid literal for int(): 126.0 I'd just like the stupid thing to show up in dollars-and-cents. Finagling Around Strange Zope Quirk

Hi; I have a variable that is set thus: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('shipping',_.int(subtotal)*.05)"> and sent in a form thus: <input type=hidden name=shipping value=<dtml-var shipping>> where I would like it to be called thus: <dtml-var shipping fmt=dollars-and-cents> That doesn't work. I thought maybe it had been converted to a string, so I tried this: <dtml-let shippingit="_.int(shipping)"> <dtml-var shippingit fmt=dollars-and-cents> </dtml-let> but that threw an error that it was already an integer and could not be converted. I give! How do I get this variable to render in dollars-and-cents? Can I convert the integer into a string and work that angle? TIA, BenO

Using getattr to access a variable defined in a Script (Python)

I have the following script (python)... ## Script (Python) "tester" ##bind container=container ##bind context=context ##bind namespace= ##bind script=script ##bind subpath=traverse_subpath ##parameters= ##title= ## dict = {} string = 'dict' print getattr(script, string) return printed I was hoping that I would receive a printout of whatever dict contains, but instead I get an AttributeError:dict. Obviously, the problem lies in getattr(script,...). So, my question is, which object should I pass into getattr to get hold of the 'string' (and subsequently 'dict') variable? To stream or not to stream

Quick question for you HTTP gurus out there. I am writing a product that marshals Zope objects into an XML data stream. In implementing the publication of this data through Zope, I have two options: - Stream the data to the client as it is returned by the marshaler in chunks. I do not know the Content-Length in advance, so I cannot set that HTTP header. - Get the entire XML document as a string, set the Content-Length and let ZPublisher take care of it. I have initially chosen the former as it seems to be the best use of memory resources for what could be an arbitrarily large data stream. Hi all: I take a start date from a form and want to make an end date 30 days from it. So in my SQL statement I have this: <dtml-var "sdate + 30" fmt="%Y/%m/%d"> However this always gives me 0000-00-00 and the start date is correctly added. What did I do wrong? Thanks, Todd

Hi, that one is new for me :-) But you might take a look at the permission settings for "Add Mailhost Objects". Click on the root-folder, on the securitytab, and check if you have enough permissions.
