Why my zope ask me login twice ?

Dear friends on this list, This question probably had been anwsered. But I just search the archie. I add a Ldaplogin Adapter on a folder under my root folder. Then I try to use the ldap to check the user login. When I login the the subfolder. The Zope ask me the password the check with ldap server then ask me again the password again to match the acl_users under root folder. I have no idea. Thanks a lot, Have a nice day Terry

Installing CMF 1.1

Hello, I have gone to cmf.zope.org to download CMF 1.1 (proper, not beta). I am installing according to the instructions given there, but can't get past adding the portal_metadata tool. I can add it, but when I go to configure the "Elements" tab, I get the following error: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. ZSyncer is fine for its purpose: syncing development-production architectures. There even exists a bidirectional version of it (see previous ZSyncer postings). Maybe ZSyncer is a good starting point with XML-RPC as the protocol of choice. For groupware purpose, i.e. bidirectional non-hierachical database syncing, i think there would be some kind of versioning useful. Imagine a different update of a document one the server and a copy of it on an offline client - how to get client and server in an equal state afterwards. I'm sure there are some additionally pitfalls. discussion recommended/desired. Andreas Hoelzl

Relative URLs

Hi Folks, Quick remedial question. How do I get folder names removed from a URL after calling an object lower in the folder tree? Example: folder1 folder2 A folder1 object calls folder2 object using href like folder2/object then folder2 object calls folder1 object by name (using href with no path since it is higher in the folder tree). Uninstalling didn't fix the problem... I'm using Zope 2.5 Beta 3 (windows 2k). I removed the product (and the exuser folder I had created) but the permission options in the security tab remained. The folder that had held the exuser folder was totally inaccessible. The only way to get back into the folder was to reinstall XUF. I eventually worked out that by creating a new folder and copying the entire contents of the old folder across was the only way to remove the apparent dependency on XUF.
