Trapping Error: Forbidden

Hi, I have the following in my standard_error_message: <dtml-if "error_type=='Forbidden'"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('http://www.yahoo.com',lock=1)"> </dtml-if> THis is above everything else, but I cant seem to be able to trap it. Why?? Ruslan, I just spent time looking into Xron. After learning that Xron had a GPL license I convinced the authors to switch it to ZPL. (Loren hasnt' changed the page to correct this yet). The author of the original code (Martijn Peters) suggested that I look at Event and Scheduler in the CVS tree. http://cvs.zope.org/Products/Event/ http://cvs.zope.org/Products/Scheduler/ These seem to be a more modern approach that uses the the CMF and page templates instead of DTML. It certainly isn't as user friendly as Xron (no documentation, etc...) but I think I am starting to grok it after a few days. Beginner Questions

Hi Everyone, I just recently discovered Zope and am enjoying it! I'm having trouble wrapping my mind around a few ideas though and was hoping for some pointers. I want to implement a corporate site in Zope. I would like to have a consistent look and feel. Ideally, I'd like people in the company to be able to write up content in html, upload and have templates automatically applied in Zope for the look and feel part. I know CMF does this but it looks like overkill for my application. I don't need that many users or many of the portal features of CMF. On the CMF list someone said that plain Zope could handle basic content management and consistent look and feel but I'm having trouble figuring out how. The Zope book is a good guide to the individual pieces but it doesnt' really tie everything together very well. I don't want my users to have to insert a bunch of DTML into their content. Is there a way to apply Page Templates automatically to content like the skins in CMF? Any pointers, urls or other info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Julian julian.hill(a)connectiva.net

ZSyncher & 2.6.0

Hi Andy, I've just upgraded a couple of servers to Zope 2.6.0 and ZSyncher is no longer playing ball :-( When I go to the Synch tab I get: Error: * TypeError * request() got an unexpected keyword argument 'verbose' Have you seen this before? If so, found a cure? ;-) If not, how do I go finding out what the above means so I can fix it? cheers, Chris

Zope Database Cache

Hi, I have some questions about the Zope database cache. You can change the settings for this cache on the "Cache Parameters"-tab in the database management screen (/Control_Panel/Database). 1. The default target size is 400 objects. But the total number of objects in the combined caches is much larger. How does the target size influence the total number of objects in the cache? How should this setting be used? 2. "Total number of objects in all caches". I don't use any RamCacheManager. Does this mean that there is more than one database cache? I do not think it is normally much of a problem. You get a little burst, then later another little burst. Not that much traffic, at least as things stand now.
