Sorting objectValues in Python Script

Hello, I just want to build a sorted list of list = context.objectValues('ExtFile') for file in list: print file.id, file.title return printed or in other words just the equivalent to the following dtml-code <dtml-in expr="objectValues('ExtFile')" sort="id" reverse> <dtml-var id> <dtml-var title> </dtml-in> Any idea to perform this. tal:condition AND

I can do: tal:condition="exists:date_edited" and I can do: tal:condition="hasThePermision" I can even do: tal:condition="date_edited | hasThePermission" but how do I do tal:condition="date_edited AND hasThePermission" Given that date_edited may not exist in the namespace, using python has it's own unique problems. The following errors if date_edited isn't found. tal:condition="python:hasThePermission and date_edited" Is there an easy way to do this test in one statement? Mark

Zope Contractor Wanted

I am just about to begin work on several large websites and will not be able to complete all the work unless I can outsource some components. You will be granted access(Manager & Owner) to our live Zope dev server to complete your components. A skeletal working system will be documented and functional, including all design templates(in ZPT), as will database connectivity and db schema. You will not have access to FreeBSD/Apache server running zope. You will be provided with english documentation detailing exact requirements however input/criticism will be listened to. I will pay the lucky winner in $US via paypal or direct into your account if you require. I dont care where you are located however melbourne would be highly benificial. You should be intimately familiar with Zope Product creation and python scripting not to mention all normal zope functions including eCommerce. Hand-holding will hopefully be minimal as my time will be taken up performing simlar tasks in addition to all business requirements. If you do a good job I will definately send more work through in the future without posting to this board. Please send your zope resume including any examples and your expected flat rate in $. Python script upon authentication

I would like be able to run a python script upon authentication ( basically whenever the user has to supply a user name and password) to do some logging and housekeeping chores -- is this possible? Any clues where to look for strategies/code?

putting file into just created directory

I have a document which looks like this : <dtml-call expr="photoArchive.manage_addFolder(id=photo_title, title='')"> <dtml-call expr="photoArchive.[photo_title].manage_addImage(id='', title=photo_title, file=file)"> Which gets called with photo_title, id and file as arguments. In the second call I want to add the image to the newly created folder, but I have found that just using the photo_title argument does not do it. The brackets[] are not in the code, just to highlight what does not work. Any suggestions would be highly appreciated. -jorg

I have just seen a reference to the Mitch Kapor's new venture. As I have not so far seen it mentioned on the Zope or Python lists, I thought I would post the info here. The venture is the building of an open-source Outlook killer from scratch. Hello zope, how can i start using a version from outside and view it? and use it from webdav too ... is there an url i should call before, that acts on the version object, then it remembers it in a cookie or session or what? :) jonatan

Hosting files sitting out in the OS file structure from Zope

I am running: Zope Version (Zope 2.5.1 (binary release, python 2.1, win32-x86), python 2.1.3, win32) Python Version 2.1.3 (#35, Apr 8 2002, 17:47:50) [MSC 32 bit (Intel)] System Platform win32 Can anyone tell me how to host pages via Zope if the pages are not actually internal to the ZODB? I had to install MRTG on our network. MRTG writes out a number of HTML files. It just writes them to a directory sitting on the hard drive of the server. (e.g. c:\mrtg\docs\<somename.html>) I would like to serve those pages with my Zope server. The pages are updated every 5 minutes or so, hence, I am not inclined to sit there FTP'ing them up into Zope as they are created :) I thought I was well on the way to solving the issue by using Apache, mod_rewrite, and SiteBase. Much to my surprise, I ended up with Apache serving Zope content and NOT the other way around. Maybe I did it wrong, but more likely (after re-reading all the documentation) I didn't understand what I was doing in the first place and got it working just like it should, it just wasn't what I wanted. Can anyone tell me how to serve pages out of my file system using Zope while still being able to serve all of my ZODB content? Thanks Robert J.
