running Yihaw on Zope 2.5.1?

I'm new to Zope (and Python) but I'm trying to get up to speed on it. I'm particularly interested at the moment in evaluating Yihaw, though I've probably gotten ahead of myself. Anyway, I am experimenting with Zope 2.5.1 (the most recent stable release) on a Windows XP box, and downloaded Yihaw and added it. Now, when I try to add a "Yihaw folder" anywhere on the Zope isntallation, I get the error message + stack trace that I include below my sig. Apologies if I'm missing something (else) obvious, but I'm wondering if I'm getting the error because I'm trying to run Yihaw in Zope 2.5.1 (the Yihaw CHANGES file says it's maintained on 2.2.5), and if there's anything that I can do to run it in 2.5.1. We want to look at the latest version of Zope, but are thinking about Yihaw as a solution for a particular project. I tried to find something in this list's archives about this question, but apologies again if I'm missing something obvious. xml-rpc timeout

I have a zope instance on a windows server that I am calling via xml-rpc from an external method on a zope server on a linux box. I am getting a strange error that I cannot reproduce from the interpreter: Error Type: Timeout Error Value: Recv timed out I didn't see any reference to a timeout in the xmlrpclib.py file, in fact I only found that error message as part of the WebMail product which I had installed for testing a while back: lib/python/Products/WebMail/timeoutsocket.py: raise Timeout("Recv timed out") any thoughts/suggestions? could this timeoutsocket.py somehow be affecting the xml-rpc calls of an external method? It didn't seem likely to me. Is there a limit to how long an external method can take? (I guess I should mention that I am using Zope 2.5.1 on debian and windows NT) Thanks, Mark Roach

newbie installation problem Zope-2.2.5 on ppc linux

hello - can anyone offer some advice on this error message, from a new installation of Zope-2.2.5 on YellowDog Linux 2.3 ppc ? finding the reason why my Zope crashes

Hi, I have some trouble with my zope test server. I am trying to decide whether to use Silva or Plone, but with both products, my Zope site crashes reproduceable. (in both products while adding a site). I use Zope Version (Zope 2.5.1 (source release, python 2.1, linux2), python 2.1.3, freebsd4) Python Version 2.1.3 (#2, Oct 1 2002, 17:24:12) [GCC 2.95.3 20010315 (release) [FreeBSD]] System Platform freebsd4 SOFTWARE_HOME /usr/local/zope/zope/lib/python On FreeBSD 4.5 RELEASE. (Zope is running behind Apache with PCGI. It is started through zopectl). I've tried "Debug a spinning Zope" (http://www.zope.org/Members/4am/debugspinningzope) But as soon as I try *anything* after attaching the gdb to zope, it just stops, and even gdb seems to be confused: (gdb) quit The program is running. Quit anyway (and detach it)? (y or n) y Detaching from program: /usr/bin/python2.1, process 13429, thread 1 ptrace: No such process. (gdb) (the only way to quit my debuggin session is to kill it (!!)) Refreshing products

Hi, I currently use Zope-2.5.1 and started to develop a new product. This product have internal properties which are common strings or integers, but also instances of internal classes which are stored in lists and dictionnaries. Everythink works fine, until I restart Zope or make a 'refresh' on my product : then, these internal properties are lost !! What should I do to be able to keep these properties ??
