Why does <dtml-in expr="getCsbans(sort='<dtml-var "REQUEST.get('sortid')">')" size=100 start=query_start> give "Invalid attribute name, "REQUEST.get('sortid')", for tag <dtml-in expr="getCsbans(sort='<dtml-var "REQUEST.get('sortid')">')" size=100 start=query_start>, on line 56 of displayCSBans" when trying to save. it seems like valid code? Scheduled downtime for all mail at python.org & zope.org

We plan on upgrading the mail server mail.python.org on Wednesday 27-Feb-2002, at 11am -0500 (EST, US/Eastern). This will affect all mail and mailing lists on the python.org and zope.org domains. Downtime should be minimal; if all goes well, just 10-15 minutes. You shouldn't even notice it. Stability HOWTO

I've put together a document describing most of our recent stability issues, and their solutions, up on http://www.zope.org/Members/matt/StabilityHOWTO Included in the document is a number of tips for trying to tweak zope if you are having problems to narrow down a probable cause. Note that to the best of our knowledge, Zope 2.5.1 and Zope 2.4.4 (both beta releases) in conjunction with Python 2.1.2 solve all known *Zope* problems. Experiences with big ZODB?

I tested ZODB with a size of 2GB with a own python product for zope. My experience is that it can be used for applications if you design your product right (Using BTrees) and if you have a python with support for large files. Are there any problems I might experience with such a big ZODB (about 8GB)? I have to decide whether to use ZODB or a relational database. I would prefere ZODB. Any comments? thomas

Apache-DSO-Fastcgi-Zope-ZEO installation

I am trying to follow this (Apache-DSO-Fastcgi-Zope-ZEO installation) howto but using python 2.2 instead of python 2.1.2. ASC / DESC in queries`?

Uhhhhm, dare i ask another question? What is the correct way (if any) to insert "Asc"/"Desc" arguments in a SQL statement? using dtml-var migth not be clever, since you could insert hostile code, and dtml-sqlvar quotes the values so it inserts 'DESC' instead of DESC.
