When I try to call MyClass.getData(self, ...), I get an error essentially saying that my ZMyClass instance is not an instance of MyClass, so I can't call that method. Python's isinstance tells me that this is the case even though issubclass verifies that ZMyClass is a subclass of MyClass. Anyone using NFGnav?

I am trying to implement NFGnav to do sitemap and navigation. When I open the pages through Zope, everything looks great. When I open the pages outside of Zope the NFGnav info does not display.. Why might this be happening? Thanks for any help Allen May MCSi Web Admin 800.842.1702 x7628

using Zope as administration interface

Hi, as I have to set up an administration tool for managing the webhosting part of our company (creating user accounts, teams of users, ftp-access, etc.), I was thinking about using Zope for this. Getting REQUEST in product method by default

I am writing a Zope product that wraps a non-Zope Python class. I would like to mirror some of the methods of this class in the Zope wrapper class, but have them only accept the REQUEST and RESPONSE variables. For example, class MyClass: """ Normal class """ def getData(self, user, field): ... class ZMyClass(MyClass, Folder): """ Zope Folder subclass """ def getData(self, REQUEST, RESPONSE=None): ... validate REQUEST variables ... return MyClass.getData(REQUEST['user'], REQUEST['field']) I want to do this because I thought that I could then do a simple <dtml-var getData> to get the result of the ZMyClass.getData method, but this doesn't seem to work. I don't know how the innards of Zope work, but I thought that methods called in this way were always given the REQUEST varible. I keep getting REQUEST=None. Is it possible to do this? Kevin Smith

Very Strange FTP upload bug!

Hi all, I've compiled a user version of Zope 2.5.0 in order to test this bug on the latest release. Here's how I can reproduce it: 1. I've compiled 2.5.0 from source and run ./start. 2. I have this file (attached, 21380 bytes) on a local computer: news 3. I attempt to upload the file using lftp-ssl 2.4.1-1 or gftp and this is the outcome: 426 Error creating file. If I edit the file and replace every '<' with an '_' then I can upload it! Regards, Adam PS: Here's how I discovered the problem: I attempt to upload the directory/file structure http/www/news using lftp-ssl 2.4.1-1 (Debian package): lftp user@host:ftpport lftp...> mirror --verbose=3 -R http /openphd/site/References/LinuxToday_2002-01-28/http And this was the bizarre outcome: Making remote directory `www' Mirroring directory `www' Sending local file `www/news' `news' at 21380 (100%) 220.7K/s eta:0s [Waiting for transfer to complete] And that's how it stays. The correct directory structure has been created in the zope database but the file 'news' has not been uploaded.
