I know the Zope distribution comes with a script that allows you to load files, or a site on the filesystem into Zope, but I can't seem to find it, or remember what it's called. Can anyone help?

Zope people online?

Is there anyplace that Zope people hang out online, such as in IRC? I'm a Zope kinda newbie and would love to have a place to throw out the occasional question, and may even have an answer or two to give (if I am lucky). Just wondering. Thanks. -- Robert A. Apache ProxyPass + Zope == bad?

Just a word. Don't know if it's been brought up before, but mod_proxy, using the details on zope.org ( even though outdated ) like this: NameVirtualHost 192.192.123.234 <VirtualHost 192.192.123.234> ServerName www.fightclub.org ServerAdmin tyler(a)fightclub.org ProxyPass / http://zserver.xyz.com:9180/fightclub/ ProxyPassReverse / http://zserver.xyz.com:9180/fightclub/ ProxyPass /misc_ http://zserver.xyz.com:9180/misc_ ProxyPass /p_ http://zserver.xyz.com:9180/p_ </VirtualHost> Will open up your server to be a Proxy server on the net. I've found that this isn't the case with mod_rewrite and VirtualHostMonster. Searching for "ProxyPass" on zope.org brings up a lot of documents, some that are fairly new. Is this a known thing? First we found out was by looking at the log files of one of our servers and found tons of 'GET http://some.other.domain.com/path/to/porn HTTP/1.0' lines... Now that we cleared it up with mod_rewrite, I'm wondering what the porn surfers are thinking when the hit this site all the time now :) Zac

No, its not an ActiveX component; it is a feature (or MS-specific hack-over-headers) that has been built-into IE for a while, and used primarily for intranet sites built using IIS. The server has to explicitly tell the browser that it will accept NTLM authentication sent via HTTP headers. See my previous message for more details. I agree, this is a security risk, and somewhat pointless when you consider that browsers have 'save-a-password' features for Basic Auth anyway...Then again, perhaps that is as much as a security risk. If you are really paranoid, you will implement cookie-based auth (not basic or NTLM) with server-based timeout/expirations of credentials associated with a session cookie, since not everyone locks their workstation when they leave their desk... XUF running on a Unix or NT box will do SMB auth off any NT box in a domain, but can't do anything as nice as map Domain groups to roles, and dive users in those groups certain roles, etc. This is a limitation of the client library. The only reasonable workaround if your Zope box runs Unix is likely something like LDAP (if your network supports it) as a bridge to your NT Domain info; though if your Zope instance runs on an NT box I think there are some tools to allow you to do NT Authentication and also Authorization (map users to roles somehow). I can say, however, that the XUF SMB Authentication works just fine, and is easy to set up, provided all you are looking for is Authentication. The magic IE-specific NTLM-over-HTTP auth mechanism could work, provided you hacked it into ZServer, becuase it requires a specifc sequence of HTTP responses and headers... Product Devel: How can I use a function for manage_addMyProductForm?

Hi, I am developing a product and I want to be able to conduct some tests before presenting the add product form so that the results of the test are available in the form. I tried: def manage_addMyProductForm(client, REQUEST. *args, **kw): """Perform tests and display add form.""" if test1: passed_test1=1 else: passed_test1=0 if not test2: passed_test2=1 else: passed_test2=0 form=PageTemplateFile('forms/manage_addMyProductForm.zpt', globals(), __name__='addMyProductFormPT') return form(client, REQUEST, args=args, pass_test1=pass_test1, pass_test2=pass_test2) The problem with this is the call to form() produces an AttributeError on 'other in Shared.DC.Scripts.Bindings._getTraverseSubpath() when REQUEST.other.get('TraverseSubpath') is called.
