Hi Chris, I went ahead and built a 2.3.3/1.5.2 binary installer to go with the 2.4.4/2.1.3 and 2.5.1/2.1.3 installers at http://opensource.spvi.com. You will also find MySQLdb, ZPsycopgDA, and TransactionAgents-005 for MacOSX (built for Zope-2.5.x) there. Let me know if you have any trouble with any of these. Problem with "redirect" and Proxy

Hi! I have the following problem: To serve my site in multiple languages and not to copy the whole page, I want to use a SESSION-Variable. The variable saves the choosen language so I can use it in the whole page. To change the language I'm setting the variable with the new language and I'm making a redirect to the page with "RESPONSE.redirect()". Now the problem is that when there is a Proxy between, the page is served from the proxy without changing the language. The proxie uses the cached page in the old language. When I use the Refresh-Button of the Browser the changing of the language takes effect. Without a proxy it works fine. Does somebody know a possibility to make a refresh to the page to get the content really new from the server and not from the proxie? Bye Steffen

automatically reindexing one catalog

Hi everyone, Yet another problem from me. I have two catalogs (one for merchants, one for items). Whenever I make a change to the information in these catalogs, I want to automatically reindex the correct one. The merchant one does this, but, for some reason, the items one doesn't. Does anyone know how I can define which catalog I want to reindex? I've tried <dtml-with ItemCatalog>, dtml-in, but can't work out what I am doing wrong. It just sits there with old data in it. DTML in Product

I'm converting a through-the-web prototype to a product. Following the conventions of the examples I've seen and the ZDG (and previous tutorials on products), I'm using DTML "manage_add..." forms. However, I have a number of these with shared information, so it would be much more convenient to factor out the common content into a separate DTML file, which I've done. To be more specific, I have an add-form for my "GalleryArt" object, called addGalleryArt, which includes a file add_contrib_dtml which has a common portion of the add form used by several objects in the product. However, I can't figure out how to include the component DTML in the DTML form. I'm using DTMLFile() to get the original DTML, which is then registered in my __init__.py. I've used the same DTMLFile() method to capture the shared component. So I now have a reference to add_contrib_dtml in the Python module which defines GalleryArt. Now, in order to get this into the namespace for the DTML form, I tried defining it like this: add_contrib_dtml = DTMLFile('dtml/add_contrib', globals()) manage_addGalleryArt = DTMLFile('dtml/addGalleryArt', globals(), add_contrib_dtml=add_contrib_dtml) (there's a line like <dtml-var add_contrib_dtml> in the dtml/addGalleryArt.dtml file). However, when I call this form in Zope by trying to add the GalleryArt object, I get an AttribError exception thrown from add_contrib which says it can't find "_aq_parent". This presumeably stands for "acquisition parent" and is certainly not referred to explicitly by me -- so it has to be something that DTML expects Zope to provide it with. So presumeably it did find add_contrib_dtml, but it isn't happy with its namespace. This must be because the DTML files are not in the Zope hierarchy, but are instead in my Product, but I then don't understand why the DTML forms worked in the first place. SO -- the question I'm asking is how was I _supposed_ to do this? (How) can I build a DTML hierarchy like this inside my Product? Thanks for any ideas! Session manager without pickle?

Hi! I'd like to open and store a database connection per session to enable things like transactions over multiple http accesses, use of (existing) python code, user authorization via database server etc. Unfortunately the session manager tries to pickle the connection object, which of course doesn't work here. Is it possible to avoid this? Anyway, as session data should be stored in RAM, I don't see the point of pickling... If it's possible to do what I want, is it also possible/necessary to avoid multiple concurrent accesses from the same user/session? Regards, Dietmar

Populating a form

Hi, I am new to the Zope environment but I have been successful. I have been able to add odbc database connection and through a form input information to this database. Now I would like to view this information. I have set up z sql methods and I can see the info under the manage_test format. I would like to be able to re-populate my output form (its a copy of the input form but without the submit). I have gone through the zope book but maybe I missed something. interactive mode

Is there a way to use an interactive python shell with zope? I find it's really helpful to use an interactive shell when writing python programs - is there some way I should be doing this? Right now I'm just calling os.chdir() to the right directory and importing Zope, but I get some odd errors, and when I do dir(Zope) it contains very few things. Am I doing that wrong? Should I be importing something else? Also, for python scripts for zope, how does everyone know which python modules, classes, and functions to import and use? The zope.org documentation is pretty sparse w.r.t. the python side of things - should I just read through the source code, or did I miss something when I was reading the documentation? The same thing applies for CMF, I can't find any references to read through.
