Problem with dtml-sendmail

we wrote an email form that performs a POST on a python script. This python script calls a dtml-method with the <dtml-sendmail>. The dtml-sendmail does not find the MailHost if it is not in the same folder. So I have to create a separate MailHost in the same folder and everything is fine. Acquisition otherwise works fine, the standard_html_header is found and included. So why does Acuqisition not work for dtml-sendmail? Any ideas? Markus

It should be said that this bypasses security machinery, etc, by not using the ObjectManager interfaces. I don't think that BTreeFolder was ever positioned as much more than something to subclass, which is likely the right way to do the UI for it. For example, I'm storing several hundred thousand objects in a BTreeFolder derived container, and I decided that the only way to have a decent UI was certainly not to use any of the ObjectManager stuff, and use a catalog to find objects, replacing the listbox UI with a search screen. BTW, the documentation should mention that _setOb and _setObject behave very different. _setOb uses the btree store and _setObject uses the normal Folder store. Unable to change proxy role...

Hello list, sorry, it nearly seems to be a FAQ, but the list didn't give a satisfying solution. I also have problems in changing proxy roles. I am Manager, and I'm trying to grant a python script the proxy role "Manager" as well. I still tried give myself the local role "Manager" explicitely in the containing folder and even in the script itself. I also tried it with other (more restricted) roles, without any success, too.(But I CAN set the proxy role to either Anonymous or Authenticated.) The strange thing is that all those things work perfectly with DTML methods, only Python Scripts refuse to accept the new proxy role. Additionally, I have to say that I use LDAP User Folder for authentication, but all the group / role management takes place under Zope. I also disabled the feature of receiving groups from the LDAP. Why I'm mentioning that is because: When I create an own Zopish acl_users folder in the containing folder, create a new user as Manager, then that user is allowed to do with the python script whatever he wants, including change the proxy role of the python script to Manager. After having done this and relogging in as LDAP user, I even cannot edit the script anymore. Is this a bug, are there workarounds, can anybody please help? Help with Version LockError, please

Hi, I have a problem with a locked version in Zope 2.5.1b2. I played around adding a version object to a subfolder, then later deleting it. Now, when I try to add new items to the root folder I get the following error: Error Type: VersionLockError Error Value: ("'\\x00\\x00\\x00\\x00\\x00\\x00\\x00\\x02'", 'No longer active') I found a suggestion at zope-forum instructing to undo the "delete version" operation, re-enter that version (I don't even remember ever leaving it ;-) and then to proceed from there. However, the operation is no longer in the Undo log of the folder in question. Is there any way to "unlock" the root folder short of re-installing Zope from scratch? Copying Objects of a Python Class

Hi! If I copy an instance of a python class (I am developing a python product) I got the problem that it does a deep copy. The original has a attribute called default_catalog which is a reference to the catalog where all objects are stored. If I do a copy, there is a unfortunately a new object (default_catalog). But it should be a reference to the catalog where all objects are stored. I store a template in the folder 'defaults' and want to copy it to 'documents'. (Layout: root/defaults root/documents) In the Object which gets copied: def createNewDocument(self, REQUEST=None): r=self.root() orig=r.defaults[self.id] copy=orig._getCopy(r) # Stolen form CopySupport.manage_clone. Passing parameters via URL

hi group. I'm in small problem ( i guess ). I have made a product , and inside which everytime i call something like http://localhost:8080/something?foo=bar i get a ZOPE error saying unable to send a variable foo .. check url .. try again ..and blah blah ... frankly, i tried this on netscape 4.77 and again later i tried it on IE it was working fine . Upgrading 2.5.0 -> 2.5.1 with source upgrader

Hi, I downloaded and unarchived the 2.5.0 -> 2.5.1 source patch at the proper location. This patch contains C source files, and I did'nt see any indication to compile those files. Running "python wo_pcgi.py" raises errors and does not the job because of ".py" files from CMF skins cannot be compiled to .pyc or .pyo ("return" outside of a function/method) How can I complete the installation ? Did I miss something ? Thanks in advance. My config : FreeBSD 4.5 and Python 2.1.3 --Gilles

Overriding aquisition

Hi all I want to call a specific function in my Zope hierarchy via DTML. This would give me the result that aquisition can only find ONE document. To do this I can do: <dtml-with "PARENTS[-1].sqs.standard"> <dtml-var "standardUserIsManager()"> </dtml-with> But that's too complex. I want to use <dtml-var "PARENTS[-1].sqs.standard.standardUserIsManager()"> (or something similar!) Any clues or other hints? Thanx Oliver Erlewein
