I am starting to write unit tests.( better late than never) In one of the tests I need to create a new instance of a product that adds several subobjects (user_folder, properies, ..) to its container. in "normal" Zope I do that with : container.manage_addProduct['RedInfopool'].addUserFolderWithGroups() When I do the same in a test like so: def CreateTestFolder ( self, ret=0 ) : ob = Folder() id = 'test_folder' ob.id=str(id) ob.title=str('contains test data') id = self.root._setObject(ob.id, ob) ob = getattr(self.root, id) ob.manage_addProduct['RedInfopool'].addUserFolderWithGroups() self.failUnless(ob.getId() == id, 'could not create test folder') ob.mangae_add .... fails. It does not have a "context" obviously. How do I add such a context? Is there a sample somewhere? thank you Robert www.redcor.ch

Sending e-mail attachments through a python script

Below is a sample python script courtesy of runyaga... ______ try: mailhost=getattr(context, context.superValues('Mail Host')[0].id) except: raise AttributeError, "cant find a Mail Host object" mMsg = 'a testful email message \n that contains a few line breaks. \n ~runyaga' mTo = 'runyaga(a)abc.com' mFrom = 'runyaga(a)xyz.com' mSubj = 'mail subject' mailhost.send(mMsg, mTo, mFrom, mSubj) ______ Has anyone been able to modify the above script so that e-mail attachments could be sent? As far as I can tell, the mailhost.send call doesn't accept e-mail attachments. However, the DTML sendmail does accept attachments. The code that I currently use does not use DTML (it uses a python script). Must I use DTML if I want to send e-mail attachments? Thanks in advance, Ron

Have you ever used it with Apache Virtual Hosts (which rely on the Host header)? ZServer works on its own. Apache works on its own. An Apache + ZServer setup works inside the firewall. This points to one thing: somewhere between outside the firewall and your server, some important information is being mangled. Have you sniffed the headers as I suggested? You could use it with ZServer but normally it is used by Apache with rewrite rules. Look at the first link I sent about it for examples. However, your problem is not to do with this. ProxyPass should work just as well. seb

Invoking several DTML Methods

Newbie : question Hi, I have a problem with invoking a DTML method. Search(Directory) | | Catalog(ZCatalog) | | updateCatalog(DTML Method) DTML Method source of updateCatalog: <dtml-call "manage_catalogClear(REQUEST,RESPONSE,URL1)"> <dtml-call "manage_catalogFoundItems(REQUEST,RESPONSE,URL2,URL1, ['Image','File'])"> I would like to invoke updateCatalog from the Search directory from a form but when I use <dtml-call "catalogue.updateCatalog(None,_,'')"> to do this, the next error is generate by Zope: Error Type: NameError Error Value: global name 'manage_catalogClear' is not defined If I use the next code in the Search directory always in the form, <dtml-call "catalogue.manage_catalogClear(REQUEST,RESPONSE,URL1)"> <dtml-call "catalogue.manage_catalogFoundItems(REQUEST,RESPONSE,URL2,URL1, ['Image','File'])"> Zope say that the global name 'manage_catalogView' is not defined If everyone can tell me how to define 'manage_catalogClear' and manage_catalogFoundItems in Search directory or how to update a Zcatalog from his parent folder or how to invoke method (which invoke herself methods)from a parent directory, I would be very pleasant. Error When Exporting A Product Instance

When I attempt to export my instance of the Squishdot product I receive the following error message in HTML. Could anyone help me decipher this message? outdated how-tos

Hey everyone. I'd like to suggest a cleanup of the how-tos area. Please!!! I just visited there, looking for some basic info, and got totally sidetracked with all the out of date confusing and otherwise broken how-tos. Luckily, I know enough to realize that they are just out of date, but I feel bad for newbies that run across them. It makes zope look bad when a how to doesn't work. Maybe we can make an archive of old ones or something??? Thoughts? Does this bother anyone else? -ed-

Stupid (I'm sure) newbie question...getting objects not in your namespace

I'm sure that if I had the time to flip through the two books I have (The Zope Book and The Book of Zope...aptly named :) ) I could find my answer...but my boss shoved Zope into my lap only recently, and is now wanting to see some results :) Is there a way to get an object that is not in the direct namespace that you are in? What I mean is: Lets say you have this: root-+--- Fie -+--- Fie1 | | | | | +--- Fie2 | +--- Fi --+--- Fi1 | | | | | +--- Fi2 | +--- Fum -+--- Fum1 | | +--- Fum2 And you are in folder Fum1.....what is the syntax to call, for example, a DTML Method in Fie2? Can it be done? Thanks... Andy Akins

We don't have any transparent proxying on this firewall. It's just an IPTABLES firewall using PREROUTING portforwarding: /sbin/iptables -A PREROUTING -t nat -p tcp -d PUBLIC_IP --dport 80 -j DNAT --to PRIVATE_IP:80 It works wonderful with just Zserver and I have used it countless other places with standard Apache / PHP servers. I looked into Virtualhostmonster. Apparently you have to use that with Apache? It isn't something that you can just use with Zserver? Anywho. Anymore suggestions would be welcome. The end result is that I have to get this web server secured. Whether I use Apache on the front end, or somebody can tell me how to get M2Crypto to work on this linux box. Thanks for all your help.
