Huge Memory Leak

Hi I am creating an application using Zope (Zope Version (Zope 2.5.0 (binary release, python 2.1, win32-x86), python 2.1.3, win32)Python Version 2.1.3 (#35, Apr 9 2002, 16:00:14) [MSC 32 bit (Intel)]System Platform win32) which has a status page which the browser refreshes every 10 seconds. I have noticed that the memory usage climbs by about 20K for each access of the page. When it reaches approx. 100M various parts of the application fail. To try and isolate the problem I cut down the page to the following and decreased the refresh to 2 seconds:- <head> <title><dtml-var title_or_id></title> <LINK REL=StyleSheet HREF="stylesheet.css" TYPE="text/css"> <dtml-comment> <style type="text/css">  </style> </dtml-comment> <META HTTP-EQUIV=Refresh CONTENT="2; URL=show_system_status"> </head> <table align="center"> <tr> <td colspan="7"> <dtml-var "table_title(title_text='Current status of all monitored Systems')"> <tr> <th>System</th> <th>System Type</th> <th>Service Status</th> <th>System Status</th> <th>Graphs</th> <th>Configure</th> <th>Delete</th> </tr> </table> Other parts of the application use up a lot more memory each time the page is accessed. problems with zope handling large download files

I'm currently using zope 2.3.3, apache 1.3.20, and fastcgi. However, I'm trying to support large http transfers, protected via a acl_user (passwords, expiration, etc.). Each download/transfer could be 20-50mb. I've tried using LocalFS as well as streaming out the data using RESPONSE.write(). However, it appears FCGIServer buffers the *entire* file before sending it out to the apache mod_fastcgi. This won't work for me, as it's a huge memory hog, plus there's a noticeable delay before the buffer is flushed out to apache. An alternative would be not put the large files within the zope process but as an external file. But I need to support passwords/expirations. Is there a better way to handle this? PHP style variable variables in Python?

Hello, First of all I am new to Python and Zope coming from Java/PHP. I am creating a simple Python script that displays a random image (image1, image2, image3....). All I want to do do is generate a random number which is concatenated to the end of the context attribute similar to this example in PHP: $randomNumber = ***some random number*** return context.{'image'.$randomNumber} Is this possible (and easy) in Python? How do I change zope manage interface style, graphics and logo?

strange problem

Hi there, I set up Zope on my NT sever. It works well for the last few months. But I cannot access the zope aplication/manage today even the zope server is still on. I don't know what happen. Can any one give me a help? DTML Question

I use the following snippet of code in one way and it works fine. I try to use another way and nothing happens, I just get a blank screen. The paths is correct. <dtml-with "sites.specifics"> <dtml-if "target_url() == 'my_url'"> <dtml-var site_url> <dtml-var site_logo> <dtml-var site_name> <dtml-var site_acronym> </dtml-if> </dtml-with> This seems to work fine and it will pull up all the objects in the folder. But when I try to get this to work with my Contacts Product or Folder, nothing happens. I've tried to access my Catalog: <dtml-with "Contacts.Catalog"> <dtml-if "contact_tracking() == '100467893'"> <dtml-var contact_fname> <dtml-var contact_lname> <dtml-var contact_street> <dtml-var contact_city> </dtml-if> </dtml-with> But nothing happens. I tried to access my entries folder also: <dtml-with "Contacts.entries"> <dtml-if "contact_tracking() == '100467893'"> <dtml-var contact_fname> <dtml-var contact_lname> <dtml-var contact_street> <dtml-var contact_city> </dtml-if> </dtml-with> Can somebody give me a hint as to what I'm doing wrong here, besides staying up all night:-( Thanks, Michael

DTML namespace lookups

In the following namespace: psn |_images |_portals |_PatientPortal |_portlets |_portlet_template |_leftnav |_images |_Ahmonson I have a dtml method in "leftnav" called "patientleftnav" which looks like: <dtml-var portal_framework_footer> <dtml-if groupname> <dtml-let imageDirectory="images[groupname]" dotpic="psn['portals']['dot_img']"> <dtml-var patientleftnav_content> </dtml-let> <dtml-else> <dtml-let groupname="'Ahmanson'"> <dtml-let imageDirectory="images[groupname]" dotpic="psn['portals']['dot_img']"> <dtml-var patientleftnav_content> </dtml-let> </dtml-let> </dtml-if> That method works fine, unless I call it from a method in "portlets" called "portlet_template" which looks like: <dtml-var portal_framework_header> <dtml-var "leftnav['patientleftnav']()"> <dtml-with REQUEST> <dtml-if includeFile> <dtml-var "_[includeDir][includeFile]()"> <dtml-else> No include file. </dtml-if> </dtml-with> The error I get: Error Type: NameError Error Value: global name 'images' is not defined I'm guessing that the line: <dtml-var "leftnav['patientleftnav']()"> is somehow not properly being executed in the proper namesapce, but I'm really not understanding why, or how to fix this problem.

Yes, I know how to change the IIS port to one different from 80, but I prefer not to (as I said, we use IIS and Exchange for webmail, and the addresses would have :81 or something like that), unless we install Apache as frontend and make the :81 and :8080 transparent. Hi, The change list of python 2.1.3 says to fix a bug that makes zope crash under certain circumstances. Should I rebuild Zope after installing this new python ("python wo_pcgi.py") ? TIA --Gilles

ZCatalog TextIndexes weird #of Objects count

Hi, I have a ZCatalog with 81 objects catalogued and one of my TextIndex Is showing in ZCatalog ZMI 1476 for "# of objects" !?! I've ran the check_catalog.py utility but this script doesnt test TextIndexes :( Anyone seen this before?
