I am looking for a zope product or bit of code to create a classified ad system with admin features and photo uploading. Does anyone know of something for zope? if not zope, what about perl or other? sean

Relative paths in Extensions folder

Hi! Writing p=open('myfile.txt','r') in a Python module in Extensions folder doesn't work unless you give the whole absolute path for the file: p=open('/usr/zope/2.5.0/Extensions/myfile.txt','r') Is there any way to define relative paths to the files in Extensions, so that my app works in different systems? (I was thinking about accessing the INSTANCE_HOME variable, for example...) looking into folders for specific entries or add properties to fo lder on creation

Hi, In our zope-site we have two types of pages, contained in folders. I want make the color of the generated URL dependant on the type of page that is in the folder, while showing the link to the folder. I use this code to generate the list of url's: <table> <dtml-in expr="objectValues('Folder')"> <tr><td><a href="<dtml-var absolute_url>"> <dtml-var title_or_id></a></td><tr> </dtml-in> </table> I would like to be able to show the links in different colors depending on the content(DTML-method) of the folder (every folder contains only one DTML-method, folders are to be excluded, so I only have to check the name of the DTML-method in the folder). Is it possible to look inside folders during the generating of this list of URL's ? A work-around could be, giving every folder an extra property for example "type" and check for the content of this property. The folders and their DTML-method are generated from a python script. Is it possible to add folders from a python script and add an extra property at the same time? If not, what is my best option: creating a new_folder ZClass like a folder with an extra property (how?), or creating a new python product (for example with the mxm Easy product)? string tokenizer, sql results

Hi all, Is it possible to have a String Tokenizer in Zope? I have an input field where the user is supposed to enter multiple keywords. How can I extract the keywords from the field, using space or comma as the delimeter? Can I do it from Zope or do I need to invoke a separate script? I've also noticed that when displaying search results, the "Previous Results" link is displayed at the top, and the "Next X results" is at the bottom. If I cut and paste the previous results link at the bottom it doesn't work. I experimented with it and noticed that it only works within or outside the <dtml-if sequence_start> tag. However, if I put it within the <dtml-if sequence_end> tag it does not appear, as it has the <dtml-if previous_results> statement. Does this mean I can't have a "previous results" and a "next results" options together, side by side? Thanks, Alex

IIS 5.0 on Win2k Server is bundled with an SMTP server service (essentially just a mail relay), though that's all it is: bundled. Is a Global <dtml-with> possible? How can I make <dtml-with> stay in scope forever?

Here is my problem: I have a Squishdot instance named 12thPlanetCafe. I wish for visitors to my root Zope directory's index_html page to go automatically to the Squishdot instance's index_html page instead. Hence I changed the index_html in the root Zope directory so that it reads: <dtml-with "_.getitem('12thPlanetCafe')"> <dtml-var index_html> </dtml-with> The above change works as long as visitors only visits the main page at http://12thPlanetCafe.com/index_html. In that case Zope automatically displays http://12thPlanetCare.com/12thPlanetCafe/index_html instead. However, once these visitors click on any link within the page the <dtml-with "_.getitem('12thPlanetCafe')"> goes out of scope. Instead of being sent to http://12thPlanetCafe/12thPlanetCafe/whateverpagewasrequested they instead go to http://12thPlanetCafe/whateverpagewasrequested. I really want the <dtml-with "_.getitem('12thPlanetCafe')"> tag to stay in scope whenever the user calls a page from a page that itself was reached using this tag. Is there any way to do that? I think that this question relates to the concept of acquisition by context instead of acquisition by container. I want all of my pages to acquire the <dtml-with> tag dynamically as a result of being called from a page in which the <dtml-with> was active. If anyone could help me figure out how to keep my <dtml-with> tag in scope I would appreciate it.

ZEO - VHM - ZCatalog and absolute_url

This is actually a couple of questions rolled up into one since they are related (in the context of the site configuration). We are on Linux with Zope 2.5.0 and the latest version of ZEO. The setup works fabulous except for the following items. Curiosity (1): Currently, ClientStorage-1 is answering to www.bla.bla.gov. ClientStorage-2 is used for the ZMI work. We have a class of document that is catalog aware. When these doc objects get messed with on ClientStorage-2, the absolute_url Metadata property in the Catalog always points to ClientStorage-2 (on all ClientStorages). So when someone kicksoff a search on ClientStorage-1 (www.bla.bla.gov) the result set returns a list that points to objects on ClientStorage-2. I can go into the catalog on ClientStorage-1 and re-build the indexes and everything is as it should be (with respect to the result set pointing to objects on ClientStorage-1) but as soon as any doc is messed with, the absolute_url for that doc will (again) point to the object on ClientStorage-2. Curiosity(2): Now, add to this a VHM in the root (we are also virtual hosting multiple sites from this setup) with a mapping for www.bla.bla.gov/blaFolder. Everything works as advertised until I hit the ZCatalog result set again. The absolute_url Metadata in the catalog does not reflect the mapping set up in the VHM. It exposes the IP address and logical path to the object. I have scoured both pipermail and NIP archives with no success. The docs tell me the VHM and absolute_url are suppose to play nice and they do until I get to ZCatalog. The docs don't say anything regarding ZEO/ZCatalog interaction. Anyone seen or dealt with this scenario before??? Thanks in advance for any insight... Eric

Printing a zwiki page

Is there a method out there to effectively print a wiki page? I'd like to put some office procedure docs in a wiki. They'd need to be printed easily.
