EmergencyUserCannotOwn error (access control ?)

I get this error when attempting to import a .zexp into the root folder from the management screen. OK so I created a user specifically to own the product, quit the browser and attempted to login as that user, but can't. I can't find a lucid (to me) explanation in the bundled docs. So any suggestions would be welcome as I'm confused and in need of guidance; it's more that I don't 'get' zope very deeply yet. using zope 2.5 on debian(woody) http://www.efn.org/~laprice ( Community, Cooperation, Consensus http://www.opn.org ( Openness to serendipity, make mistakes http://www.efn.org/~laprice/poems ( but learn from them.(carpe fructus ludi)

Hey folks. How do you use the <dtml-sqlgroup> & <dtml-where> clauses when you want to do a join? If I have a table of items, and a table of owners, and items have an owner_id, then selecting all of them would be something like: select o.name as ownername, i.name as itemname from owners o, items i where i.owner_id = o.id; If you wanted to re-use this query for showing items owned by a single owner, you can extend it as: select o.name as ownername, i.name as itemname from owners o, items i where i.owner_id = o.id and o.id = 2; -- Assuming the owner you were interested in was #2 Is it possible to do the join always, but the "o.id = 2" only if an owner id was provided as an optional argument? vim and Zope

I want to edit Python Scripts and DTML methods with vim. The only way I found to work is to start vim, and on the vim command line enter this: Nread "ftp://localhost 7021/index_html" This download the file to vim, but at the top there's this text: "WARNING! 87 bare linefeeds received in ASCII mode" ... and on the bottom there's this: "File may not have transferred correctly." Can I get rid of these? I'm using vim 6.0z ALPHA. netrw.vim is version 2.10 -- Milos Prudek

DTML method entry translates hyphens to HTML entity

Hi, newbie question/problem here - apologies if this is answered elsewhere but I'm just finding my way round the newsgroups. I enter a simple DTML method (using the standard Zope interface), such as: <dtml-var standard_html_header> When I hit "save changes" the object is saved but the hyphen in 'dtml-var' has been changed to what looks like an HTML entity: '−' (without quotes). This doesn't do what it should (i.e. include the standard header) since, I guess, the parser doesn't recognise 'dtml−var' correctly when the method is called. If I then manually replace the entity with a hyphen and hit "save changes" again all is well. Strangely, if I then paste in another chunk of DTML the same thing happens: hyphens are converted, I change them manually and all is again well. Strangely, it doesn't seem to happen with other tags, such as '<random-tag>'. Can anyone explain what's going on? Is there an option to turn this off? Is this behaviour known about? Documented? etc? I'm using Windows 2K with Zope 2.5. Thanks in advance for any help. Cheers, Robin

Problem after deleting an object...

Hello to everybody! I just made a tool to reserve terminals in a computer lab. It has two basic functionalities: - Make a reservation (calls the method "createInObjectManager") - Cancel a reservation (calls the method "manage_delObjects") As a manager user, I can make reservations as long as I want; however, when I cancel a reservation and try to make another reservation, I get the following error: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: AttributeError Error Value: _setObject Does anybody knows how to solve it? Thanks in advanced, Josef.

logging module in Zope?

Newbie: Win Me reboots with Zope

Hi, I've just installed Zope 2.5 on Windows ME. Double clicking start.bat causes the machine to reboot. Running z2.py with IDLE also causes a reboot. I'd read somewhere that Norton Firewall can cause this but I only use Norton antivirus and disabled it everytime I tried to start Zope. Can anybody help?
