Hi, since I installed the new Zope, I've seen several times the same error message in the log file: ------ 2002-05-27T11:47:13 ERROR(200) ZServer Bad HTTP request: 'GET /cgi-bin/formmail. pl?email=f2(a)aol.com&subject=www.mysite.com/cgi-bin/formmail.pl&recipient= elulis2(a)aol.com&msg=w00t HTTP/1.1Content-Type: application/x-www-form-urlencoded' Does anybody know what it mean? external validators

Hello! I'm having some trouble with external validators. This may or may not have something to do with my earlier troubles re. forms. Previously, (before I knew that plone's join_form.pt was using formulator) I was doing manual validation on the fields from join_form.pt. I put code like this in plone_form_scripts\validate_registration: if REQUEST.get('field_shackname', '').startswith('anon@'): errors['shackname'] = 'Sorry... no anons allowed.' Not very pretty, but I didn't know any better. I started getting some odd errors that I am (still) unable to fix, and nobody had anything to say about those errors on the zope list. So I started reading the source code until I found formulator, which looked like a better alternative to manually checking. So I added an external_validator attribute to my form fields in my join_form, then wrote the external_validator as an external script. However, my join_form page never seems to fail from the external validator. I changed the external validator to write a small file to my hard drive, so that I could detect whether or not the function had been called. And the weird thing is that the function isn't being called. Here is the function: def validate_shackname(REQUEST): open(r'f:\new.txt', 'w').write('foo foo') return "ERROR" Here is how I (try) to use it in my join_form.pt: <input type="text" name="field_shackname" size="25" value="shackname" tal:attributes="value shackname" external_validator="validate_shackname"> validate_shackname is the name of the external script, as well as the name of one of it's functions. Is it correct that the function takes REQUEST as a parameter? Is there something I'm doing wrong? and I've still got the error from earlier, where the form doesn't complain when a field is invalid. I don't know if that's related...

May be a problem with ZClass

Hello everybody. My problem: I made a product with ZClass technology. I don't know why every time that I start Zope, an old version of my product appear. The unique information that I could find is in the file "stupid_log_file.log". This is: 2002-05-27T14:01:46 PROBLEM(100) ZODB Could not import class 'MixGraphClass' from module '*Z70QZ0TZA5T3p/X/EFDKrA==' Before this problem appear the product work fine, and if I re-import the newest version after a start, the product work fine too. So I don't have any idea of what is happening and how I could solve this situation. I didn't find anything in the newest version that didn't be in the older version that suggest me a "code error". Can someone give me any suggestion? Thanks, Martin

bad zope crash and won't restart

I was trying to edit properties of a zclass from a python script with something like: proc=getattr(resFolder.Procedures, id) print proc.propertysheets.propertyIds() and I had a sudden freeze in my system which now won't restart. When I try it hangs (if I run the init.d script and here is the scary message I get when I >./start [root@imfpr Zope]# /usr/local/Zope/lib/python/ts_regex.py:15: DeprecationWarning: the regex module is deprecated; please use the re module import regex, regsub #, Sync /usr/local/Zope/lib/python2.1/regsub.py:15: DeprecationWarning: the regsub module is deprecated; please use re.sub() DeprecationWarning) and then it looks like there's a process running but no pages serve up. Basic object access question

Howdy, I'm sure this is explained any number of places, but I haven't found it. Given this layout, with Project and ImageFolder in my installation root; Project sub sub2 ImageFolder sub sub2 - Image a DTML Document in Project/sub/sub2 contains; <dtml-var /ImageFolder/sub/sub2/Image> I get a KeyError What am I missing here, where is the explanation? Book question: Zope Bible ??

Serious problem: ConflictError

Hi, As some of you might have seen I have had severe problems with my Data.fs today. Manged to resolve the problems by using the fsrecover.py. All the sties are up and running, but I cannot add any data. I get the following traceback trying to add a regular Folder at the root level. Is there a way to solve this problem ? This is a serious problem for me! I have tried a new recover but no errors are found and no bytes are removed during recovery. URGENT : site inaccessible when traffic is high

Hi, I have 2 nested loops, where the outer one iterated over folders and the inner one iterated over the dtml documents in each folder. On DTML vs TAL perhaps like Chris I stick with DTML only since I learned it first, but I have other reasons: - TAL alone (without any DTML) doesn't give me the power and flexibility of DTML. - I also find TAL more cryptic than DTML, at least in some cases and particularly when I don't want to use a WSYIWYG editor. This obviously depends on what you know in advance. In short, I also prefer DTML.

Unit testing

I just read "Unit testing" chapter of the excellent "Dive into Python" book. I know that Zope 3 development extensively use unit testing development. I wonder if anynone use unit testing for Zope 2.* product development? Any insights or advices?
