sendmail with dtml-var

I made a variable 'mail_group' which appears in <dtml-var REQUEST> as: ['first last <person(a)here.com>','first2 last2 <person2(a)there.com>'] and I want to use <dtml-sendmail> so I have: <dtml-let addr="_.string.join(mail_group,',')"> <dtml-sendmail mailhost="MailHost"> To: <dtml-var addr html_quote> Subject: Feedback from somewhere from: trying(a)somewhere.com Comments:<dtml-var comments> </dtml-sendmail> </dtml-let> But I'm getting totally impenetrable errors: <dtml-var addr html_quote> renders perfectly to: first last <person(a)here.com.,first2 last2 <person2(a)there.com> and if I cut and paste the above line to the 'To:' field, mail is sent perfectly. BUT when i run the above sendmail script I get a page that says only: {'first': (550, '5.1.1 ... User unknown')} If there is just one name in 'mail_group' I get an even weirder page: {'f': (550, '5.1.1 ... User unknown'), 'i': (550, '5.1.1 ... User unknown'), 'r': (550, '5.1.1 ... User unknown'), 's': (550, '5.1.1 ... User unknown', 't': (550, '5.1.1 ... User unknown')} I am totally perplexed. And SUPER frustrated. Can someone tell me why this is and how to fix it if possible. thanks joshua p.s. if I use To: <dtml-in mail_group><dtml-var sequence-item><dtml-var addr html_quote><dtml-unless sequence-end>, </dtml-unless></dtml-in> I get an error like: Error Type: TypeError Error Value: len() of unsized object which I think is because of trailing spaces though I can't see any...

Accessing attributes - object with 'implicit' period in id

Aloha, I'm back with an example. My situation seems different than solutions in recent threads, and I don't see how the answers thus far apply (if they do). I'm looping through the results of a catalog search, displaying thumbnail images, caption, date, etc.. A thumbnail, linked to a full-sized image, is displayed for each result: ... <a href="<dtml-var imageURL>"> <img src="<dtml-var thumbURL>" border="0" alt="<dtml-var caption>"> </a> ... imageURL and thumbURL are properties of each gallery item which point to the actual image, and will be something like: /gallery/thumbs/C03Valley001.jpg I want to get the height and width attributes from each thumbURL item and use them in the img tag attributes. But: height="<dtml-var thumbURL.height>" does not work, giving: Error Value: exceptions.KeyError on thumbURL.height in "" I am assuming this is because in my situation all thumbURL items returned are objects with periods in their IDs. So it's choking on trying to find '/gallery/thumbs/C03Valley001.jpg.height' - is this the case? Or is there some other problem here? In any case, how do I access the attributes (like height and width) in this situation, where the period in the actual ID is 'implicit' in thumbURL? thx, John S. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? ZPT and check boxes

Hi, Can anyone suggest how to implement a check box in ZPT When I create an edit form from a database I want a check box that is either checked or not depending on the value in the database I am aware of tal:attributes but need to know how to bend it to create HTML like <input checked type="checkbox" name="UKSC" value="checkbox" > ^^^^^^^ TIA David Kyte

Open an object

I am new to zope and although I have done some python programming over the past few years, I am having some trouble. I am trying to make a simple little web calendar. The first page that I of the calendar is a list of dates that come from a bunch of DTML Documents in a folder called 'events'. Each DTML Document is an event. To do this I use something like: <ul> <dtml-in expr="events.objectValues()"> <li><a href="calendarItem?cal_id=<dtml-var id>"><dtml-var date></a> </dtml-in> </ul> This makes a list of dates that are linked to a DTML Method 'calendarItem'. I pass the variable cal_id to 'calendarItem' so it can display more information about the date. How do i use the variable 'calendarItem' to open the DTML Document into an HTML page? I tried: <dtml-in expr="events.objectValues('DTML Document')"> <dtml-if expr="id == cal_id"> <dtml-var date><br> <dtml-var title><p> <dtml-var sequence-item> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> But for some reason that did not work. How to detect transaction abort to allow cleanup?

Hi all, I have an object that uses SOAP to talk to an external server. The SOAP connection should last only the length of the transaction and the server needs to be notified that the transaction is complete. I've got things properly working when transactions are successfully completed by overriding __getstate__ to do the correct thing. Unfortunately, I can't see how to ensure that the proper message gets sent when the transaction is aborted.. Is there a method that I can define that will get called when the transaction is aborted? What is the Best Way to Include CSS Stylesheets in Zope

I would like for all of my Zope pages to use a CSS stylesheet by default. Ideally I would be able to keep the reference to the stylesheet in only one place in Zope and have changes to the stylesheet filename propagate globally. The Beehive book does not mention anything about how to integrate CSS stylesheets into Zope. Does anyone what is the best way to do so?

standard_error_message strangeness ..

I just (after much frustration and fruitless searching..) discovered that standard_error_message wraps some default tables and errors around itself if it starts with : <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" lang="en" xml:lang="en"> instead of just <html> Is there any reason for this ? puzzled.. -- Geir Bækholt web-developer geirh(a)funcom.com funcom oslo | webdev-team
