AttributeError : __basicnew__

Hi, I have written a little product, and I wanted to use of Interface. But an attribute error of __basicnew__ appears. What __basicnew__ for ?? How do I have to change my interface ?? Hi, i' ve installed your external editor product on Zope-2.5.1+ CMF-1.1, is a very good and useful product. I found an error in manage_main.dtml when accessing folder containing custom objects (instance of products i created for my content management application). Zope Folder Reference

Hi! I would like to access the properties of a folder that I can only refer to by a variable. In my case it is a folder named the same as the creator's user name of the a page. For example: <dtml-with userdb> <dtml-with creator> <----- This should be a variable to the creator <dtml-if FirstName> <dtml-var FirstName> </dtml-if> <dtml-if LastName> <dtml-var LastName> </dtml-if> </dtml-with> </dtml-with> I have a userdb folder witch contains subfolders for each user name. These subfolders have the properties "FirstName" and "LastName". How do I access these subfolders by using the "creator" variable on each page. Any suggestions on how to do this? Or is there any simple Zope internal database for user management or some product that does this better? Nic nk(a)nkmail.com

How to get the "pure" source of a pagetemplate back ?

Hi, I am editing all my sources on the local file system, and upload them to the Zopeserver, with a heavely extended version of load_site.py. Some care had to be taken if more than one person modifies the online site. But if there were changes, I could just cut and paste the source from the textbox into my local editorwindow. Until pagetemplates came around, here I only get the text with all macros expanded. So my question: how do I get the pure unexpanded text of a pagetemplate from a Zope-server back ? recompile all Python Scripts in Zope 2.5.1

After import of a 2.4.3 site, Zope 2.5.1 logs a message recommending a recompile: 2002-05-16T11:39:58 INFO(0) Script (Python) Some of your Scripts have stale code cached. Since Zope cannot use this code, startup will be slightly slower until these Scripts are edited. You can automatically recompile all Scripts that have this problem by visiting /manage_addProduct/PythonScripts/recompile of your server in a browser. But the URL /manage_addProduct/PythonScripts/recompile does not work. What is the correct URL? -- Milos Prudek

zope + squid

hi there i just installed squid on my zopemachine to use it as a reverse proxy (speed up things ;-). i can access the site through squid, but I think it's not caching. is there something i should put in my zpt and dtml-objetcs and if yes how (I read something about http-header). can somebody explain? thx daniel

View Permissions

Hi, I want to limit access by role to the functionnality within my website. Firstly, I need to remove the view permission from the anonymous role so that users are required to log on to view certain pages. I attempted to do this by unchecking the view permission against the anon role in the security tab of the users folder within the folder I was working in. However, this appears to make no difference - I have even added a dtml-if statement to the contents of the page I'm testing to explicitly check if the current user has view permissions before displaying any data: <dtml-if expr="_.SecurityCheckPermission('View', this())"> .. page content .. </dtml-if> Unfortunately, this appears to make no difference: I've checked that the current user is anonymous: (which proved the theory) <dtml-var expr="_.SecurityGetUser().getUserName()"> Any help much appreciated! Being a newbie is very hard: fortunately help from the community counterbalances the frustration of sifting thru howtos, mailing list and books. Yes, I agree with your comments about the namespace, I think that's what's causing the problem. In fact I do have a <dtml-with Machine> in a method that does not seem to be closed properly, but when I try to add a closing tag it baulks. Fortunately Casey Duncan from zope.com has answered my mails and asked me for the code of my methods so I think I should soon get a reply. Thanks for the compliment on the structure. We're now studying going on to page templates, so the structure may change slightly. We also have to work out how our editors submit their pages which is a real headache, since we have editors that in our past system used to create whole mini-sites and ftp them to our server. We now want them to use our template, but they cannot ftp from dreamweaver with objects called index_html since there is no extension, and if they add an extension so that Zope recognises them as ZPT we no longer have the default index_html object.
