If you look at standard.py in the PageTemplates product, you'll see how to make stuff playabel with from Script (Python)'s. If you could put this in as a feature request on the Squishdot tracker @ SourceForge, I'll see if I can make both functions importable by default when I do a next release... cheers, Chris PS: Hope you don't mind me CC'ing in the Zope list, others may find this useful...

I have a PyScript that returns a list of strings Somehow I am unable to do the following: <dtml-let ll="get_list()"> <dtml-if "'test_str' in ll"> YES <dtml-else> NO </dtml-if> </dtml-let> I know that 'test_str' is in the list. The if test fails always. What am I doing wrong?? eval in PyScript

I cant seem to be able to call eval() from my script... Do I have to do something special to make it happen? Greetings: Started testing ParsedXML and the following error is forwarded up starting the zope server: 2002-06-16T01:49:38 PROBLEM(100) Init Ambiguous name for method of Products.ParsedXML.ManageableDOM.DOMManageable: "manage_main" != "manage_DOMTree" The following steps were taken on this SuSE 8.0 system: Installed python 2.1.3 from source Installed PyXML-0.7.1 Build parsedXML via instructions provided in the package. Everythin compiled fine and parsedXML is available from the dropdown as well as in the products section. Everything seems to be correct. Yet the error message.? Perhaps I missed something..? I just set up the same situation and it worked for me... (ie I get YES back) My guess is that you aren't returning a list. Zope and SOCKS

Is there anything special about the Zope environment, which would prevent it from being able to use SOCKS5 in a normal configuration (i.e. using the standard python interpreter and libraries bundled with Zope) on Solaris 8 (Sparc)? I have set up SOCKS5, and am able to get through our socks proxy with a simple "runsocks python" environment. So I know that my SOCKS client config is good, that python is able to go through the SOCKS libs, and that the SOCKS server is working correctly. As a sanity check, I verified that it fails without the "runsocks". When I try changing the "start" script to use "runsocks python z2.py ...", and then use an External Method to talk to a server on the other side of the proxy, it seems to ignore the SOCKS libs and timeout. I have verified that LD_LIBRARY_PATH and LD_PRELOAD are visible in my External Method, that my External Method gets called, and that the SOCKS server is not receiving traffic from my host when the External Method is called. It seems as if the Zope libs are forcing my method to use the builtin libsocket.so.1 instead of the desired libsocks5_sh.so. I could try building a SOCKS-aware version of python's _socket.so module, but it seems like that shouldn't be necessary given that I can successfully use SOCKS from python outside of Zope. Having done considerable groping on this one, I would not wish to add further confusion for anyone else.
