I have only seen one service that will host Zope. Can someone recommend others, so I have some choice? Are can I use any hosting service that allows me to upload my site?

Greetings All, I've been going back and forth with the idea of doing my own Zope hosting over the last few months and finally when the weather turns good I get this urge to start actively approaching this. So I wanted to send off this message to the group to get your insight and I hope to gather some experts who would be willing to help consult me further. What do I need to be looking at to start up virtual domain hosting? I've a few net friends who are isp's who have looked at some of the zope accounts and while they're interested, I'm not familiar enough with zope to make a proposal on what would be needed to get their support. I'm looking at them to be able to provide the hardware and some of the sppt. If there's someone here who would be willing to exchange a few emails or phone calls (my expense) I'd really appreciate it. This is more than a bit aggressive in what I'm wanting to achieve with my knowledge. Maybe we can exchange some resources or other that would benefit your help? Is Zope 3 being developed for programmers only?

I have recently been looking at Zope Page Templates with a view to switching over to them in preparation for Zope 3. However as I understand it people are encouraged to use Python rather than DTML when using TAL. Adding ZPT in __init__ method

Hello, I want to add a ZPT at initialization (in the __init__ method) of my folderish product. Why can't I just use: self.manage_addPageTemplate(id='ZPTid',title='title',text='content') Can someone give me the right syntax to do this? A folder will represent an object in a db or several db's It will contain methods for handling data. ZPT's which some how needs to know what other db-objects are of interessent to the user, when looking at this object. Take fx a chair (object1) . A chair is placed in a room (Object2). When viewing the chair - I would like to have a link to the room. When clicking this link I will see the data descriping the room and have links to objects in the room. Am I making sense now? programming local roles

I've setup some code to add a group of users and folders for those users to an existing folder. I want to add to this code so that each user has Manager Roles as local roles within their own folder. Too hard for me at this stage, can anyone help? Extension of the Folder object

Greetz I want to extend the folder object with a property that will link a folder to other folders. The normal tree structure of folders are not an option, and I dont want to have copies of folders lying around. One way to solve this would be, to throw a Python script in each folder an just return a dictionary with the foldernames, that I want to link to. But something a bit more dynamic would be very nice... Any suggestions? \Oliver

sendmail with dtml-var

I made a variable 'mail_group' which appears in <dtml-var REQUEST> as: ['first last <person(a)here.com>','first2 last2 <person2(a)there.com>'] and I want to use <dtml-sendmail> so I have: <dtml-let addr="_.string.join(mail_group,',')"> <dtml-sendmail mailhost="MailHost"> To: <dtml-var addr html_quote> Subject: Feedback from somewhere from: trying(a)somewhere.com Comments:<dtml-var comments> </dtml-sendmail> </dtml-let> But I'm getting totally impenetrable errors: <dtml-var addr html_quote> renders perfectly to: first last <person(a)here.com.,first2 last2 <person2(a)there.com> and if I cut and paste the above line to the 'To:' field, mail is sent perfectly. BUT when i run the above sendmail script I get a page that says only: {'first': (550, '5.1.1 ... User unknown')} If there is just one name in 'mail_group' I get an even weirder page: {'f': (550, '5.1.1 ... User unknown'), 'i': (550, '5.1.1 ... User unknown'), 'r': (550, '5.1.1 ... User unknown'), 's': (550, '5.1.1 ... User unknown', 't': (550, '5.1.1 ... User unknown')} I am totally perplexed. And SUPER frustrated.
