logout and IE6 problems

Hi All, Pardon the cross post, since I dont know where exactly my problems lie... I am running Zope 2.5.0 (binary release, python 2.1, win32-x86), python 2.1.2, win32 on a Win2k machine with a MySQL server. I just wrote my first UserFolder based on the mysqlUserFolder product, but with some customized stuff to suit my needs. I basically did not use mysqlUserFolder's session and cookie management and instead, am using ZSession for session management. Finally after several days work I have everything running, barring two problems, one doesnt matter much, the other is a gift of the evil empire which I havent figured out as yet. The first problem: For logout purposes I used the function that handles the logout in ZMI and call it from a form; the function is as follows: def user_logout (Self, REQUEST,RESPONSE): """ Terminates user session """ user = Self.check_valid_mysql_user (REQUEST) Self.__terminate_session(REQUEST) realm=RESPONSE.realm RESPONSE.expireCookie('__ac',path='/') RESPONSE.expireCookie('_ZSession',path='/') RESPONSE.setStatus(401) RESPONSE.setHeader('WWW-Authenticate', 'basic realm="%s"' % realm, 1) RESPONSE.setBody("""<html> <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0; URL=http://xxxx:8080/test_folder/logged_out"> <head><title>Logout</title></head> <body><p>You have been logged out.</p> </body></html>""") return It basically does the job beutifully and I have no problems. What I would like to do however is to be able log back in when prompted for a login and password as a result of this call. I tested the ZMI interface and it does the same too : once you log-out you have to cancel the prompt box and then try and access a protected resource to get logged back in. I tested the control flow and as a matter of fact when I enter the right username/password combo it goes through 'validate' and authenticates it all right but just doesn't accept it and sends another 401. Any ideas as to hwo to get around that would be great....!! The second problem: All of the above works nicely with all versions of Netscape. On IE versions 5.01 and above however, it behaves exceptionally badly. In that I can login and a nice little session variable is created, and the cookies are set up, and when I log out, the sessions are cleared and cookies thrown out and I get prompted to log in which if I cancel, I get booted to the logged out page. All nice and clean. However if I press the back button or type in the URL of a protected resource it sends the authentication information back and I am not prompted to log back in. On looking at the session and cookie info, I found that a new one had been created with the same auth information. "It just ignored the HTTP 401 !!!" Now I dont know if that is a bug in IE ( I am inclined to believe it is!! ), but I have tested my package pretty exhaustively and it works without fail in all NS and upto IE 5.0. If anybody has encountered the problem before and has figured out how to deal with it 'without' closing all IE windows, I would be immensely grateful if s/he could pass on the information. Is it a normal ZSQL Method

Hello list, I had used Zope for months. I found ZSQL MEthod don't have the power to complect my expection. There could be 1, 2 , or more conditions. ex: SELECT * from article from article WHERE condition 1 AND | OR condition 2 AND | OR condition 3 .. ... . Sort objectValues with ZPT

Hi all, I want to sort my objectValues('News') at date_add, the date that the News objects were added. I have written a python method to do this: def list_peers(self, sortkey='id'): """returns a listing of peer news objects sorted on sortkey""" itemlist = [] for item in self.REQUEST['PARENTS'][1].objectValues('GNAW'): itemlist.append( (getattr(item,sortkey),item) ) itemlist.sort() return itemlist I can give the sortkey as an argument to the method. Now I want to implement this in ZPT as follows: <div tal:define="itemlist python:here.list_peers"> <div tal:repeat="item itemlist"> <a href="#" tal:attributes="href item/absolute_url" tal:content="item/title">Title news</a> </div> </div> But this doesn't work. How to get rid of header and footer information?

Hi, I ran into the following problem with Zope: If you create a Zope document you will probably include something like <dtml-var standard_whatever_header> and <dtml-var standard_whatever_footer> into the main text area, thereby giving layout information for the default rendering of the item. Problem is, when you try to access the main content of the document, say, for non-default purposes like a text-only version or inclusion into some digest, you always get this default layout information too - if you want it or not. So I have two related questions: 1. Is it possible to reference the main content area of a document EXCLUDING the header and footer information, just like a 'clean' property field? 2. Is there a better way than including Headers and Footers, maybe by relating a document somehow with different separate 'template'-like dtml-methods for default and non-standard ways of rendering the document? Folderish object with linking to other Folders

Dear Reader I want to extend the folder object with the capability the link to other folders not in the folder. Folder1/Folder2 (Folder1 is parent of folder2) Folder1~Folder2 (Folder1 is related to Folder2) I could make a python script which returns all folder that I want to link to, but I'm looking for something a bit more dynamic. \Oliver

Anything like python's "dir" command for Zope?

Hi, One of the things I love most about Python is the ability to quickly drill down into any object, to see what attributes it has, what functions it can call, and so on. (see below for a demonstration of what I'm talking about.) I am now learning to use Zope, and am becoming increasingly frustrated trying to figure out what various things provide. For instance, container.objectIds() shows a list of everything in the root directory... container.portal_url() shows the base url... ... and I'm sure that there are a dozen (or a hundred) other things that I can do with a container object. How do I find them? dir(container) doesn't work. It looks to me like the dir command doesn't work under Zope, probably for security reasons. Does Zope have anything analagous? Suppress traceback in error page? 2.5.1

Hello! I have almost sucessfully upgraded my zope from 2.4.4.b2 to 2.5.1. The problem I have now is that it suddenly starts printing tracebacks on evey error page. I have changes nothing except the zope version. It seems that 2.5.1 defaults to debug mode no matter what. I am not using the -D option, an I have set the following in the env that zope uses: Z_DEBUG_MODE=0 HTTP_TRACEBACK_STYLE=none to no avail. Zope still thinks it is in Debug mode. It used to work with 2.4.4... Any hints/suggestions? login_form doesn't accept pswd

hi list, I have got this problem with login_form that is driving me crazy... I can create new users with the join_form with no problems (it shows them in the acl_users folder)but when I try to login it doesn't accept the pswd and if I look in the control panel I can see that the pswd is different from the one I created. (suppose I created a 10 letters pswd and in the acl_users folders only shows a pswd of 8 caracters, and always 8...no matter how long is the password I set). It's driving me crazy...can anyone help or anyone else has experienced smthing similar? I'm pretty new to zope and I just created a brand new cmf_site. thanks for helping Luca
