Hi, Firstly: for a live site, ie one that's actually going to be used commercially, what is best: zsession or the default session environment shown at the end of the "using basic zope objects" chapter of the zope book? If the second is okay, then where can I find a howto or other docs that might show me how to set a value in a session using dtml? The reason is I don't want to have to do a python script each time I want to set a value... I don't know if this reasoning is justified... I've been trying <dtml-with SESSION mapping> <dtml-call set('banana',1)> (or SESSION.set, without the dtml-with) <dtml-var banana> But it gives a keyerror. All the examples I've found online and in the shopping cart example or in the zope book are python scripts. Is there a reason for this? Zsync errors

Hello all, I have two Windows 2000 boxes running Zope 2.4.1 (Yes, I know about 2.5.1 but production is still on 2.4.1 and I can't upgrade just yet -- unless that is the fix for this problem.) I have installed Zsync 0.4.5 on each. I have a Zsync object called DEVEL on the development box, and a Zsync object called TEST on the test box. Both boxes have identical administrative accounts, and Zsync is not set to override. It is set to require approval, although I get the following error either way. I made a change to index_html DTML_METHOD (which Zsync is set to handle, by default) on the devel box. The DEVEL Zsync object has the TEST Zsync object on the test box as a destination and notes that it is out of date. When I attempt to do a sync I get the following error: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: NameError Error Value: global name 'has' is not defined Troubleshooting Suggestions * This resource may be trying to reference a nonexistent object or variable global name 'has' is not defined. * The URL may be incorrect. * The parameters passed to this resource may be incorrect. * A resource that this resource relies on may be encountering an error. For kicks, the reverse configuration (TEST with DEVEL as a destination) does not notice any change. Help or pointers would be appreciated. Hi! I have big problems running my Zope-2.5.0-src under Solaris 2.7 with python 2.1.2 (configure --with-thread). The same problems occur even when I install the binary for solaris-sparc. [BUG] Permission mapping partially ineffective (was:[Zope] ZClass and Permissions)

I analysed the problem: Permission mappings defined in the ZClass' "Define Permissions" tab itself (rather than that for a specific method/propertySheet) are ineffective. As a consequence, the permissions of inherited methods cannot be remapped. Permission mappings defined for specific methods or property sheets are effective. Accesses to such a method or property sheet are wrapped into an additional PM (Permission Mapper) acquisition wrapper that takes care of the permission mapping. Such a wrapper is missing for ZInstance accesses. This is a potential security breach, as anticipated protections expressed via a permission mapping is not effective. Workaround: If the permission mapping has the aim to restrict a permission, there is no work around. If the permission should be extended, a wrapper method can be defined that calls the original method. Its "View" permission is mapped to the desired target permission. It gets a proxy role such that it is able to call the original method. Dieter

I've tried to FTP the image files now, and I get 426 'Error creating file', which is coming from FTPServer.py (looks like this object gets a 403/unauthorized and returns the 426). I can FTP PUT text files, but it looks like binaries are not allowed. How can I get graphics into Zope? However, the desired Linux directory did not get created. For testing purposes I've set /home/test/ to chmod 777. My Python is not very good. Does anyone have any ideas what i am doing wrong? Value of radio button

Hello All, I have the following bit of code that loops through and creates a radio button for every folder. I would like the value of the radio button to be the title of the folder. How do I do that? That code below does not work -- it uses the actual name 'foldersName' as the value of the radiobutton not the title of the folder.
