ZCatalog: how to get rid of deleted objects?

Some of the brains I get from a ZCatalog search return none as the result of getObject(). Does that mean the corresponding object has been deleted with being uncataloged? How do I clean them from the catalog. Reindex wont do it? thanks Robert

dtml-methods in CMF/Plone ?

hi, we´re developing an application with lots of dtml-methods which call sql-methods and want to use cmf resp. plone as the content management framework ;-) all i can add inside a plone folder are generic plone/cmf objects: documents and stuff - adding a dtml-method with <dtml-var standard_html_header> and <dtml-var standard_html_footer> works, but calling it fails with "portal_url not found" tried that some weeks ago with an older cmf version, which worked out o.k. is there a way to use dtml-methods in a cmf resp. plone site / does it require special variables being passed? thank you a lot for any hints, oliver

DTMLDocumentExt and Versions

hi, I have a problem with Caseys DTMLDocumentExt (http://www.zope.org/Members/Kaivo/DTMLDocumentExt) which makes DTML-Documents CatalogAware. Maybe this is a problem for all CatalogAware-Products... When a user edits a document in a version, the Catalog will be updated in this version. If the next user wants to edit another document he gets an "VersionLockError" because the Catalog is locked by the version of the previous user. ZClass object/data modeling question

Greetings, I am setting up an application that will have a project object/class, and each project can have multiple tasks, multiple deliverables, and multiple team members. How best to represent this in Zope ZClasses?? As i see it, the options are: 1. use ZClass sub-objects. This seems unstable or not well liked by the community. OR 2. give each task, deliverable, and team-member class an attribute of project_id to bind them to the parent project class (like a foreign key relationship in RDBMS's) OR 3. use python and create "real" classes. this would require me to spend more time learning/building the class libraries, but if it's the much preferred solution, i will. Groupware - worldpilot

Hi all, just tested again Worldpilot and got it to work with Zope 2.5.1 and python 2.1.3. Only one adjustment had to be made to WPUtils.py. ( See end of message ). Now my question is: - Is there anyone using worldpilot? - Is there anyone developing it anymore? - Would someone be interested to continue developing it onward and possibly make it more zopish, and or make it as a CMF-product? What else pieces you people use as a products for groupware? For email, calendar etc. ? Are there any good Zope-products that could be used in combination better? I'm been building our intranet with CMF and only things now missiong is just the PIM functionality. Calendar and webmail are php programs as well as the meeting room booking system. Now if there were great components to do all this again in Zope it would be great... DTML, Zope and Regex

Hi Zopers: I am trying to do some very basic pattern matching, but to my surprise Zope does not seem to support it very well now (or I have not been able to find the right docs). I found a couple of items from Runyaga in ZopeZen and ZopeLabs regarding regexes: <http://zopezen.org/SDot/993647662/index_html> <http://www.zopelabs.com/cookbook/993591088> The above postings are old (about 1 year), and I wonder if there's better support for regexes now...? Where can I look? What I want to do is awfully simple: I have a folder object with other objects (pictures, html docs, etc.) which I want to traverse, and based on the object id's (file names are a string consisting of date + obj type, for example: 2002_July_08_pic_1.jpg), I want to group them, and print headers for each group, for example: Photos for July 7 <dtml-if expr="id =~ /2002_July_7/"> <- Just a 'perlarized' example <img src="&dtml-id;"> <dtml-if> Photos for July 8 <dtml-if expr="id =~ /2002_July_8/"> <- Just a 'perlarized' example <img src="&dtml-id;"> <dtml-if> I know I could go to properties, and add some kind of properties to each object, but that is not possible as I have lots, and it would be to hard to go TTW to add some property to each one of them....Or should I just give up DTML in this case?
