How do zope objects cached?

Calling ZSQL from DTML

I'm working with several tables in PostgreSQL, and need to generate a unique ID so I can insert some data into several tables and connect them by keyids. Thanks to advice I got here several months back, I'm using a sequence in PostgreSQL and retrieving the value of the sequence with a ZSQL method. Here's the source of the uniqueid method: SELECT nextval('uniqid_seq') My problem is, I want to take the results of the uniqueid ZSQL method and use it to fill in a hidden value in the newjob_form dtml method, so when it calls the spawnjob ZSQL method, it can fill in the jobid correctly in the inserts. spawnjob works just fine when I test it (inserts successfully to both tables) but I can't figure out how to get at the results of uniqueid. I'm sure I'm missing something obvious, but I'm not making any progress. Maintaining Zope/ preventing Data.fs corruption

Hi, folks- I've recently lost a wiki site because of what looked like corruption in the data.fs file. So I'm wondering if there are any "grooming" tools out there that can report on the integrity of the Zope db and/or fix problems in the file before it bites the dust. How stable are the alternative storage engines for Zope, ie/ storing data in Oracle, etc? photo folder question

Hi All, I'm a real zope newbie. Searched all over for this information, but no luck, so maybe the list can help. I'm using the photo and photo folder product. I've got it working using ImageMagick, and have verified that it will resize as requested. However, I'm not finding any documentation on how to really use it. What I need is a little sample dtml that shows the contents of the photo folder, like the method that lists all the objects in a regular folder. Thanks for any help. --Lars Johannesson

"aq_explicit" takes an implicit acquisition wrapper and returns the corresponding explicit acquisition wrapper, i.e. the one with the same "aq_self" and "aq_parent". As the result is an explicit wrapper, attribute lookups are only performed (automatically) in "aq_self" and no longer in "aq_parent". popen2 in External method causes Aiieee!

The following simple external method works fine in Python 2.1.3/Zope 2.5.1 locally, but does not work for files larger than 4000 bytes in the exactly same software configuration on a remote server. When I removed the source code and put a simple "return 'GIF'" in the External method, problem disappeared.
