ZPT ==> DTML conversion impossible?

Hi, I was get following code sample from examples (Root Folder/Examples/Navigation). It is working standalone, but I need no <ul><li> tags, only simple <br> between listed items instead. <div tal:define="siblings here/siblings.py"> <ul tal:condition="siblings"> <li tal:repeat="folder siblings"> <a href="folder" tal:attributes="href folder/absolute_url" tal:content="folder/getId">folder id</a> </li> </ul> <p tal:condition="not:siblings"><b>There are no sibling folders here.</b></p> </div> I have no idea to get out <li><ul> tags from ZPT as shown here (except generating <TR><TD> instead), so I decide to convert this piece of code to DTML, which is much pretty. Hi, Please excuse my previous email about dtml-in getting key errors when using batch variables: I'm convinced now that the reason this whole thing is not working is because of the "mapping" attribute: how can I format my request result so that I don't need this attribute? xmlrpc fault error messages

Does anyone have a nice looking way of dealing with these? The problem for me is that I just get the zope attribution button in my browser and have to scour the html source to find the real problem. The xmlrpclib.Fault string seems to be dumped in its entirety into the standard_error_message, resulting in malformed html. threading in zope

I am trying to figure out how Zope processes concurrent requests. I am running Zope using ZServer (without a webserver in front) My initial investigations suggest contradictory answers: * ZServer uses medusa, which uses asyncore which works by single threaded select multiplexing * z2.py has:: # The size of the thread pool, if ZODB3 is used. Is ZODB a true object database?

I'm both a novice at Zope as well as Python. I'm learning both concurrently, and I'm impressed with everything I've learned so far. I see myself becoming a true-blue Zope/Python fan. I'm also new to OOP, so I'm studying the principles of OOP as well. I have 2 questions: 1. Is ZODB a true object-oriented database? If so, does this mean that all web items like pages, images, css files, etc. are stored only as objects in the ZODB? 2. I don't see any web file structure in the Zope program at all. Nothing like a wwwroot directory exists anywhere on my PC under Zope. Does that mean that ALL objects created in Zope ONLY exist in the ZODB? And does that also mean the only place I see the web file structure is when I log on to Zope on port 8080? Just wanted to make sure I understand the underlying principles of Zope. Tree tag problem

I know there is an active bug report on the tree tag using the sort option when not all items in the current folder have a property and that propert is used as a sort key... My problem is a bit simpler -- I have a jested group of folders ( say A, B, and C) enclosed in a folder (say OUTER). The structure is OUTER A B C which I am trying to render <dtml-tree OUTER sort="displayOrder"> <dtml-var title_and_id> </dtml-tree> I have set a property 'displayOrder" for each of the folders A, B, and C using the ZMI. (In the real world it gets set programmatically, but ...) Assuming that the sorting were to occur, I want the order to be B, C, A and have set the displayOrder values appropriately as strings. Running the progam fragment in a wrapper generates the error: Attribute Error: displayOrder with a reference in TreeTag.py where displayOrder is used in a getattr() call. Are properties not attributes of an object? What's the problem?

Mail from python script

I am attempting to send mail ( using Zope 2.5.1 on Win2000) from python using the following code found at Zopelab.com: mailhost=getattr(context, context.superValues('Mail Host')[0].id) mailhost.send('Test', 'root(a)coursesbywire.com', 'root(a)coursesbywire.com', 'Test') Using DTML sendmail tag seems to work without a hitch but the mail server rejects the Python script generated email with the following error info: Reason: Message headers exceed xxx bytes. Headers are probably not formed correctly. Is there some flaw in this Python email sending strategy ?-- is this a peculiarity of my mail server (SlMail)?-- Is there some other way to send the email from Python?

CMF / Plone Question

Hi I want to get all the Plone Folders in the current Plone Folder. After a cup of coffee I started out with: <div tal:define="folders python:container.objectValues('Plone Folder')"> But it seems that "container" in this case allways is the portal root!? To clear things up: root - Partners - IBM - Oracle - HP - Resellers - Info-IT - ComputerCity - Just Hardware When I am in root I want to get (Partners, Resellers). When I am in Partners I want to get (IBM, Oracle, HP). When I am in Resellers I want to get (Info-IT, ComputerCity, Just Hardware) http://mysite/ gives me (Partners,Resellers) http://mysite/Partners still gives me (Partners, Resellers) Which obviously isn't what I want. What am I missing? Maybe I should say the the script is called from a customized main_left_column. \Oliver --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Setting base_href to another url?

Hello, Is it possible, outside of hacking the Zope source, to have the base href set to some other string? For example, have a folder or other object defined with a property, 'base_href' and have the base set to that. This would be the servername/port only, not any path afterwords. I would even hack the zope source, if need be, if someone can tell me how I could get to the objects properties as they are set in Zpublisher/HTTPResponse.py. The apparently relevant function, def setBase(self,base): 'Set the base URL for the returned document.' if base[-1:] != '/': base=base+'/' self.base=base Isn't quite clear how it is getting the servername and port.
