Hello zope, i am wondering how can i access a property of my folder from a <dtml-in > tag... i have a folder with a property no_price in that folder i call 'list' , a dtml method defined in the root folder that 'list' method calls sql.getOptions(), sql folder is in root dir too, with getOptions ZSQL method in it. this works fine... then i want to loop over the results from getOptions, like this <dtml-in "sql.getOptions()"> ... this works too... but when i am inside <dtml-in> block i cannot access the no_price property of the folder from which i am calling everything... if i list propertyItems, it shows the sql folder's properties... how can i get the porperty of the context folder? thanks, k. -- don't believe everything you think

Installation problem

Hi all, I am trying to get a Zope installation running on FreeBSD 4.6. I believe that I have everything right, however when I try ./start I get the following message bs4# ./start: /usr/local/lib/python2.1: permission denied 'import site' failed; use -v for traceback Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/local/zope/z2.py", line 296, in ? import os, sys, getopt, string ImportError: No module named os the rights on the os module are: bs4# ls -l /usr/local/lib/python2.1/os.py -rwxrwxrwx 1 root wheel 17401 Aug 23 15:44 /usr/local/lib/python2.1/os.py I had to install python manually so I could have gummed it up there. Does anyone have any ideas? TIA SHerman

DTML - DateTime not allowed to access

Hi, please help a stupid blind man. I installed Zope 2.5.1 (not my first Zope installation) on Linux. I got some nasty errors when I installed my application. One error I traced down to <dtml-var ZopeTime fmt="%d"> giving Error Type: Unauthorized Error Value: You are not allowed to access %d in this context Why can't I fmt the DateTime objects any longer? It looks like the response code is "302" but it's a bit hard to tell given the size complexity of the log data as the site is live... Several folks have suggested that the URL passed to the redirect ought to be absolute and not relative. Has this been your experience. (I looked and found no documentation one way or another--I've used relative URLs in several places without problem. On the other hand, this is a problem.)

Getting the position of an object in a folder

Is there a simple and direct way to get the position of an object in a parent folder without iterating with a dtml-in loop through all the objects of the folder and countring until one gets to the id of the said object? unicode error

How do I get around this? Error Type: UnicodeError Error Value: ASCII decoding error: ordinal not in range(128) There are non-ascii characters stored in properties of folders and I'm trying to build an xml string to send off to a ParsedXML object for parsing. Do I need to encode with a different encoding? I'm basically doing: XMLstring = XMLstring + new_part_from_folder_property Thanks, -Chris

dtml-tree : branches-expr speed problem

Hi, I have a tree node filtering function: ################# root = context.pres_docs_core_files obs = root.objectValues() for ob in obs: if ob.getId() == 'examples' : obs.remove(ob) return obs ################## When I am testing this PyScript it does its work pretty quickly. But when I call it from the dtml-tree tag, it just takes forever to render the tree. It does render it but it takes of the order of 20-25 seconds to do it. Any ideas why?? Also if any one can tell me a better way of implementing the above function (I have no idea how to use a lambda style function or a list mapping function in Python) that would be great...
