Figured it out. I had two DCOracle2 products, one in lib/python/Products and one in $INSTANCE_HOME/Products. Not sure how. The other problem I was having was due to the zope user not having ORACLE_HOME set. Running: * Zope version: (Zope 2.4.4b2 (binary release, python 2.1, linux2-x86), python 2.1.3, linux2) * Python version: 2.1.3 (#1, Apr 15 2002, 11:13:45) [GCC 2.7.2.3] * System Platform: linux2 With DCOracl2 version 2.1.1 installed I show DCOracl2 and ZOracleDA in Product Management screen but they do not show in the drop-down to add an item? Fix broken python on Mac OS X version 10.2

sorry for the crossposting, here's a little heads-up for the mac OS X crowd: upon upgrading to 10.2 (jaguar) you will most likely find that your python binary (along with most other self-compiled software) is broken. in the case of python a simple re-build (if you compiled from source, that is) fixes this. i added explicit instructions to the "Zope and Python on Mac OS X" HowTo at http://www.zope.org/Members/jens/docs/zope_osx i highly recommend re-building zope after that as well. jens

I'm interested in this also. We use UBB for forums and I think it uses crypt to handle the password stuff. I want access to those users and their info inside Zope. Mainly for authentication. Ideas? Urgent!!! Help needed with DCOracle2 + Stored procedure + Oracle9i

Hello zope users, I need your help. RH7.2 + Zope2.5.1 + DCOracle2 + Oracle9i When I try to test stored procedure from within ZMI I get: 'ORA-01460: unimplemented or unreasonable conversion requested' I tried with different procedures and functions - result is the same. >From the command line python I get: Traceback (most recent call last): File "db.py", line 4, in ? c.procedure.test_it('n') File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/DCOracle2/DCOracle2.py", line 1344, in __call__ cursor.execute(sql,__plist=args) File "/usr/lib/python2.2/site-packages/DCOracle2/DCOracle2.py", line 903, in execute result = self._cursor.execute() dco2.DatabaseError: (1460, 'ORA-01460: unimplemented or unreasonable conversion requested') test_it() code: create or replace procedure test_it(p in varchar2) return binary_integer is begin return 1; end; But another procs do no work too. Session Management

Hello all. I'm new in all this Zope concept and products. I'm building a site that requires user control and management all over it. What I need is to keep track of my user in the website, he logs in and I have control of what he can see, do, or can't. Is there an easy way in Zope to implement this, I mean like a product or something. If this is not the case what function in python can help me to accomplish the task. I'm looking for something like PHP sessions and sessions variables. But if there is some other way(a better one) I welcome your suggestions. Thanks in advance Gerardo Amaya

If there is one, can anyone send me his/hers? (just in case, running Zope 2.5.1 + Hotfix-2002-06-14 for Windows.) Ah, that reminds me a question: can I see--inspect, download--the cvs repository (http://cvs.zope.org) "filtered" with a tag or release? Like, show me the repository for, say, 2.5.1?
