LocalFS on Windows with Python 2.1.3

Hi, I try to run the product LocalFS with under Windows with Python 2.1.3. Starting Zope I get the following exception: C:\Programme\WebSite\lib\python\ts_regex.py:15: DeprecationWarning: the regex mo dule is deprecated; please use the re module import regex, regsub #, Sync C:\Programme\WebSite/bin/lib\regsub.py:15: DeprecationWarning: the regsub module is deprecated; please use re.sub() DeprecationWarning) Followed by an exception window that the python15.dll could not be found. Can anybody help me? Does anybody know, if the combination LocalFS, Windows, Zope 2.5.1 and Python 2.1.3 should be possible or if I should take another version of anything. How to install PIL with Zope.

How to install PIL with Zope. I'd lile to using Photo Product on Linux. But I'm in troubled by installation of PIL with Zope2.5.1(Binary). Problems with Ms-webfolders, iis, and pcgi

I am trying to gain access to Zope via webdav with the MS-webfolder client. This seems to work fine when I connect to Zope directly. However I also run zope behind iis using pcgi. When I do this I get an error saying there was a problem (but not details of what that problem was. If I use DAV explorer then I can see it behind IIS just fine. From the logs I suspect that webfolders is getting properties on the pcgi script or it's folder from IIS and denying me based on that rather than looking at the full url. Anyone know a way around all this? A related question is, anyone know how to make MS-frontpage play nice with Zope webdav?

Hi, I've been trying to install ZPatterns on a Windows 2000 machine and Zope 2.5.1 for some time now. The problem is that I get an error when I try to compile the DynPersist.c file. Can anyone send me a compiled version of the file? Thanks, Kris

Zope scripting from the console

Hi Zopistas: I am wondering how I could write a python script that interacts with Zope from within another script (on a Linux box). I have a Perl script that ftp Zope through port 8021. No problem there; however, when I upload the new objects I would like to add properties at the same time that they are being uploaded (this will avoid my having to go TTW and do that manually afterwards, which is time consuming and not very efficient). To do that I think a python script could be run that adds new properties to Zope while I am adding each object (I think something simple like a function that takes 2 args would do, ie, the property name, and value); I would also want to add dtml methods programmatically if needed, but I am not so sure how to do that. I have no problems running programs from within Perl, but what I wonder is how I could write a python script that interacts with Zope from my console. Is that possible? Or is it a security issue? acquisition not working

Hello zope, Acquisition is really cool and amazing .. if it works..:D but sometimes it doesnt. for example, i have a folder "/admin", in that one i have an "options" admin has an index_html, options doesnt. options have a title property, admin too... but they are not getting rendered by <dtml-var title>... i have a real_index.html in the options folder... in which it does correctly render it... why isnt the acquired index_html rendering the variables ? i think i am too lame, or zope is too lame... but not both ;D hope i am ... thanks a lot:D k. -- don't believe everything you think

CMF/Zope scalability

I have a client who is interested in using the CMF to build a very large system. I am wondering where I could find some proven metrics on its limitations. In particular, how many members could be handled using the standard Zope acl_users methods. I am not worried so much about load capacity, that can be tested using common techniques. But I am not certain about the ZODBs ability to store large numbers of objects and the Catalog to handle searches over these objects. Do you know of any sites/research where I may find some answers? Naturally I understand that this depends on many other factors, but can anyone provide me with actual experiences? Thanks Tom
