I've benn looking in some examples and I found out 2 new functions in Zope!!!! manage_editProperties manage_clone There may be other, never know, "The truth is behin us". Question: Where are those functions documented? Hmm. In what way aren't they working? Does my page generate an error message, or is the page just failing to increment its counter and leaving it stuck? (And if so, at what value - 1 or 0?) David PS. What Zope version are you using? You will need to have a Browser ID Manager and a Session Data Manager somewhere in the tree where the DTML document can acquire them (may as well be the root directory). If they aren't there, add them, using the default options. You'll also need a Session Data Container; this is best placed inside the temp_folder created by default on installation. You'll need to point the session data manager to the location of the session data container. Some or all of this structure is created automatically on installation; I can't remember precisely how much. Anyway, add in anything that isn't there, and sessioning should work. Can zope cope ?

I have been faced with a proposition to build a web portal type site for an australian community. The proposal is as follows.... The site is for a not-for-proit organisation. Flash portal layout. Area for users to login. Logged in users progress throughout the site collecting points according to how many messages they may post on a message board or how many times they post images or download files etc... The points can be exchanged for goods or services offered in a section of the site. The site must contain a gallery of images and videos that can be posted by user who visit. Site members must be able to publish event reviews and details. This site must be able to run as a .com on a foreign server we dont have access to except via ftp. We as yet dont know what OS its running or what server software its running. I have little database or portal programming experience. I do have university multimedia experience that allows me to complete the web sites design. I also have a sound knowledge of computers and the Internet generally and a basic knowledge of linux. I have been appointed leader in creating the site with limited resources. Can anybody suggest how i tackle the problem? Is this type of site possible with Zope if i were to attempt to teach myself python? Any response whatsoever would be greatly appreciated. HowTo Render txt-Files with LocalFS in PythonScript?

Dear List, with the following PythonScript I try to render the content of txt-Files with LocalFS according to the howto of LocalFS (...snip..." To insert the text of the file after evaluating it as a DTML template in the current namespace, you would use: <dtml-var "test['foo.dtml'](_.None, _)"> .....snip ..."). My Script: ## Script (Python) "getContentFiles" ##bind container=container ##bind context=context ##bind namespace=_ ##bind script=script ##bind subpath=traverse_subpath ##parameters=REQUEST=None,myLFSInstance ##title= myLFS = getattr(context, myLFSInstance) print myLFS['textfile.txt'](_.None,_) but I get the below Error-Message. If I try: print myLFS['textfile.txt'].data the content is returned but without rendering (as expected). Does anybody know how to get the rendering done? Zope Examples - Shopping Cart

Hi, I'm trying to figure out how a shopping cart is working in Zope. I've looked at the "Shopping Cart" Example in Zope (2.5.1). The "index_html" is in ZPT language and I rewrite it as a DTML Method/Document.
