LocalFS install problem

Hi, I'm relatively new to Zope. However, have installed and used various products succesfully. Unfortunately I can't get the LocalFS Product working. In /Control_Panel/Products/LocalFS I Keep getting this traceback after I restart Zope. Object access from Zope Product

How to access an object from a Zope Product? For example, if I have a url www.myhost.com/test/MyObject, in PythonScript I do it as usually: context.test.MyObject() In ExternalMethod I do: self.ZopeContext.test.MyObject() In Zope Product?... -- Sincerely yours, Bogdan M. <dtml-elif> problem

Squishdot Authentication Question...

This should be a simple one, can't quite get it yet.... I have an internal squishdot site running and I want to give users the ability to post comments anonymously. I've looked through the permission & security settings but can't figure out how to turn this on, any advice? [fyi, I considered posting directly to squishdot mailing list, but recent comments were over a week old, so I thought my response could be quicker here]

Good realtime chat / whiteboard applications to be used with Zope?

Hi, this is a question related to the intranet thread. Does anyone of you have any good examples or experiences of good realtime chat or whiteboard applications that could be used with Zope? If you have been using something, what has been the setup and how has it worked. Here are some thougths without the whiteboard. 1) IRC-server + java irc-client This could be a nice way of doing things. Company's internal irc-server and you could connect into it via browser - or instant messenger that support IRC. Server would throw logs into the Zope and archive those in similar fashion like blog entrys. Whiteboard could then be another application ,applet, that only does the whiteboard part of it. IRC benefits is the possibility to use also other clients than browser and take part into discussions even though you are also doing something else. Bots etc. are also nice bonus, since engineers could write AI bots that diagree to everything and agree to payraise discussions ,-) Questions: - Good and easy to maintain irc-servers? - Good java irc-client? 2) Jabber Is this a dead idea? Iäm not that familiar with Jabber that I could actually say anything - but there seem to be a lot of people exited about Jabber. For me the instant messaging has never been anything important and in this application Jabber would be used in a conference mode - which is just like irc. And there is jabber.py library to access Jabber from python. Whiteboards and chats: ---------------------- I just downlaoded BabylonChat from ( http://www.visopsys.org/andy/babylon/index.html ) and was instantly impressed about it. It is written in Java, seems to work and can be used as an applet or application. I saw other software also on freshmeat and did some searches on google. Seems that chat and whiteboard are very popular terms in many pages. Now my question is, does anybody else use some other application for the same thing? What are your experiences? Newbie type questions about the REQUEST object

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, These are very simple questions, for my simple brain. ;-) I've been playing with the REQUEST object, and I see that I can set a use the mysterious REQUEST.set as so: <dtml-var "REQUEST.set('test2', 'test_Value')"> and put its value back out to the world like this: this is the request value: <dtml-var test2> My current question is how to get the value to "stick" as it were, so that I can come back and get it later. As it is above the value is only available for the current page (which, in this case, is the action part of a form from another dtml method). How do I use it in other pages/methods? I've read the Zope book about creating a guestbook, but I want to break it down to its simplest form so that I can understand how to keep the value once it's in there. For instance, I've gone through the Job Board Tutorial, and see that there is a relationship between the Class/Product, and the REQUEST.set syntax, the only difference being that the second item doesn't have single quotes around it. I tried to take the quotes off, but I get an error about that value not being available... Thanks for helping me understand this! ZMI Does Not Wrap Lines in IE6

The Zope Management Interface works great in Mozilla. However, when I access the ZMI using IE 6 the line wrapping is turned off, and I can only see the leftmost portions of my code. Clicking on the Wider and Narrower buttons at the bottom of the screen seem to have no effect on anything. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Export site sources to file system

How do you permanently hide the paste button?

How do you permanently hide the paste button after a cut & paste action, but not after a copy & paste? Is there an easy way to hide the paste button after a cut & paste action. I have tried setting the cb_dataValid flag to 0, delete '__cp' or set it to ''. I am sure these aren't good options. setting the cb_datatValid flag to 0 only works when returning to the page after the paste action. The button returns as soon as you refresh the page or go to a new page. Any ideas on what I need to do please. (Running zope 2.5.1 / python 2.1.3 / win2000) Thanks Steve.
