xron on Solaris

Hello, I am having some problems with xron. One machine runs Solaris 8 - the xron does not have problems here. However, I am having difficulty running xrons on the machine with Solaris 2.5.1. In both cases, I use Zope 2.5 and xron 0.0.10 . On the machine with Solaris 2.5.1, the first time I add a xron to a directory, it shows up in the Cataloged Objects field of the Scheduler. However, after the time it should have run, the Cataloged Objects field is completely cleared even though I had specified a reschedule. In addition, the method that I specify to run on the xron is never executed. Is there anything I can change to get the xron running on the Solaris 2.5.1 machine? Is there some incompatibility with the version of the operating system? Thanks, Shilpa

This report <http://www.zope.org/Members/glpb/solaris> (March 2002) painted a rather depressing picture for "poor little rich kids" obliged to run Zope on Solaris. The following is offered by way an update. The residual crunch issue seems to be what happens when you put a database adapter in the mix. do I need to get user's password?

Hi, I'm looking at implementing a very simple encrypted password scheme, using SimpleUserFolder. The documentation says I need to implement a function to return a user's password. But if I understand encryption at all, this is supposed to be impossible. What should I do? Return an empty string? The hashed password? What depends on this capability? Surely it doesn't need this to support logins, does it? Also, should I expect any trouble with using SUF with CookieCrumbler to get cookie-based authentication? Otherwise, SUF looks pretty straightforward. Tracker History Data / zexp-editor

Hi, 1.Does somebody know a quick way to access the History of a Tracker-Entry (TrackerBase Product) ? I've tried to find out something by reading the Tracker-SourceCode, but i can't figure out how the history is created. 2.Is there a way to view and/or edit a zexp file ? would be glad if somebody could help me out, Sebastian

IE, SSL and redirect...

I have a site setup, using https. I have a form, that when submitted redirects to a file, which is downloaded. This works using Mozilla, Netscape, curl and wget. IE fails with "The requested site is either unavailabe or cannot be found". The Location in the HTTP 302 redirect is absolute. ? -- /Magnus Heino

passing variables from internal methods

I'm working with converting Squishdot to use ZPT so that it looks more like the rest of our site. Using DTML Squishdot passes variables from an internal method to a DTML method like this, return self.showMessage( self, REQUEST=REQUEST, title='%s Posted' % klass.meta_type, message=message, action=path ) The DTML method then refers to <dtml-var action>. How do I refer to the variable in a TAL statement to have access to "action". Everything I've tried has been a variation on, <span tal:replace="here/action">Action</span> which is undefined. -- Bryan C.
