If I define QuickLinks from NN3, then view management screens via MSIE, in MSIE does not appears, but in NN3 YES! After uninstalling MSIE5, old one, MSIE4 have this error too. Auto-Documenting Zope Products

Hi Dieter, (CC'd Zope list) I only just discovered the pydoc module in Python 2.1 and was trying it out on my Zope product (I was previously using "HappyDoc", which was unfortunately not finding everything I wanted it to -- presumeably because some things are added dynamically). Anyway, I noticed that you have a set of pydoc/zope patches for improved functionality. Neat. http://www.dieter.handshake.de/pyprojects/zope/pydoc.html I'm writing because I noticed some interesting things while playing with the inspect module (which pydoc uses). You've already got a patch to make pydoc recognize Python Methods, but I noticed that DTMLFile() and SQL() objects show up as python methods when I examine their type. So far the best way I've found to identify them is to look at their docstrings, which are inherited from the original DTMLFile/HTMLFile class and the SQL class respectively. It seems to me that it is a useful thing to be able to recognize whether a method is Python, DTML, ZSQL, ZPT, or whatever -- especially since they are usually used for different things. So far, I've noticed that: DTMLFile objects' docstrings begin with "HTMLFile" ZSQL objects' docstrings begin with "SQL" It seems likely that the others could be identified this way too. Or is there a smarter way to do it? I'm a little concerned that the docstrings might change in different Zope versions. I'm unsure what to do about this, but I was wondering if there might be some useful way I could contribute detection code to your pydoc patches? Unfortunately, I haven't figured out how to generate a full documentation set for the product this way -- I've managed to generate individual HTML pages, but I don't seem to be doing it right yet. I also incorporated a useful trick for documenting complex DTML pages, which I use in my Narya product: http://www.anansispaceworks.com/Narya/Forum?debuglayout=1 which is basically to wrap DTML objects in a table with a label derived from the document_id. I'm not sure if there's a more automatic way to do it. But the point is that if DTML is supposed to be for doing visual layouts, it seemed logical to document it visually as well -- let the layout show you how the templates are used together. I'd like to figure out a way to do this so it doesn't depend on the page design to do it, but this isn't too demanding (I just have to include a small DTML method call in the headers and footers). I installed the Windows extensions for TextIndexNG (thanks to Andreas for putting together an installer so quickly). The installer only detected the stand-alone version of Python during the install (as opposed to the one that ships with Zope). I changed Zope's start.bat to point to the stand-alone install of Python. No problem. I restarted Zope and went to the "Products" page. TextIndexNG is now showing up as a product, it looks like: TextIndexNG (Installed product TextIndexNG (1.05beta1)) This is a BIG step... I've never been able to get Zope to even recognize TextIndexNG. Here's the problem: TextIndexNG still isn't appearing as an option under the "indexes" tab of a ZCatalog object. I am unable to create a TextIndexNG index. Zope isn't giving any errors, the product seems to be properly installed, it just isn't showing up. Any ideas? Xron Trouble

I have an Xron set up. When I use the 'View' tab, I get the desired results. However, when I use the 'Trigger' tab, which should be used for testing purposes, the Xron DTML Method does not get fully executed. I have noticed that when this object is set up in the Schedule, it is not being executed properly. Does anyone know why this is happening?

IE caching form field values

Performance ( lack of ?) problems

I am running Zope 2.5 on a Win2000 server. The server is not a total screamer but is pretty capable I think ( 800 mhz PIII 256 mB ). >From within a python script, I am trying to, while uploading a text file, create some Zope folder objects for each line in the text file. Each line in the text file causes creation of an object and a couple of child objects and in each child object 3-10 more objects ( and in the future the number may increase). I am finding that each line read takes 1-3 seconds of real time in the script to create the required objects -- I am hoping to upload files and process having between 500-2500 lines using this technique but at this rate it will not be possible. I am currently trying to determine if there is a particular area that is causing the problem but I haven't found anything obvious yet ( using the profiler and manipulating the coded). Is this level of performance expected, am I likely doing something bizarre that is causing this performance problem? If this is expected performance, is there some other technique I should be using? Any guidance accepted.
