I already made some experiences with Web server private. Now to my question... If I now on the Zope server go come the announcing mask example. exactly the same look like one htaccess announcing mask. Then appears the announcing window where the address the PAGE stands above, then a defined name (" Zope ") then username and password to the input. As far as as well funzt also everything, only as I can change " the word " Zope in the announcing mask? - I use Zope Server only - no Apache running. Zope installed on Win2k. Normally with htaccess file is it AuthName, how goes with Zope? example: htaccess like it with apache servers. Dann erscheint Browserseitig das Anmeldefenster wo oben die Adresse der Page steht, dann ein definierter Name ("Zope") dann Benuztername und Kennwort zur Eingabe. Soweit so gut funzt auch alles, nur wie kann ich das Wort "Zope" in der Anmeldemaske ändern ? Normalerweise bei einer htaccess file ist es ja AuthName, wie geht das bei Zope? bsp. htaccess wie sie bei apache Servern eingsetzt wird .. I have also found that the catalog becomes very sluggish after a 'find and catalog' to catalog the 10,500 items. It takes 10 mins for the catalog to return with the 'catalog' tab listing the cataloged items. It takes a further 10 mins before the python process drops its usuage of the processor from 90-95% down to 0-10%. From this point on, the catalog takes 40-45 seconds to return found items using the site search form. Restarting Zope brings the catalog back to the 1.5-5 seconds I had achieved previously. Next step is to learn abit about the zope profiler and interpreting its results I think? __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? why shall I use Zope?

Hi, can someone give me some ideas on what Zope can be useful for small scale website? I understand zope as a good platform to build web application (medium to large scale) and portal solution. But if I have only 20 pages of websites and news I probably update only once a week, is Zope still useful? To use Zope, I still need to understand HTML if I create the content using DTML document. One of the good advantage is ZMI. But not everyone understand HTML well and ZMI might not be a good tools to update one's website. There are a lot of website builder such as Frontpage. With frontpage, one can manage his/her website locally, update it and synchronize the contentt with the server. Could anyone just give me idea why would I prefer to use Zope for small scale website? >From $ standpoint, zope hosting is more expensive than other frontpage, php hosting (of course for small scale site) Service provided by MaGlobe Prepaid Worldwide Internet Access (visit www.MaGlobe.com)

Simply write a vanilla Zope product class for each content type that implements your own DublinCore interface implementation; create all the Zope Management Interface-based UI tabs that you need for your item class. To make it work in Zope with the CMF, create a ZClass that inherits from (first) said class, and (secondly) CMFCore.PortalContent. Follow instructions similar to the FAQ content type howto on cmf.zope.org (create the zclass; add needed methods; add factory type information object to types tool; create skins; test/tweak). You may also get more mileage asking this same question in the Zope-cmf list. Hi everyone, I've built an event database using PostgreSQL and a number of ZSQL methods, DTML methods, and Python Scripts. The following SQL returns a list of all the events that will be happening in the next 7 days.
