The listed problems are all warnings and should not abort the process. After the install, I went looking for a new 'zope', but should have looked for 'Zope'. It's right there of course. Quickly installed KebasData, and it happily sucks up HTTPS. But this didn't seem to work using the Zope which comes bundled with the binary installation, correct? Now I need to install DocumentLibrary, get TextIndexNG working and copy over my Products (remember that capital P..), data.fs etc, and see if DocumentLibrary works with HTTPS. Any guesses? Ken

newbies questions on ZODB

I need to allow users to store large amounts of files (PDF, doc) in a database (or directory), with several information linked to the file (author, title, description ...). Then Index the content of the files to be able to search. Would it be advisable to use the ZODB to store these files (say more than 5.000 files or +/- 1 GB) ? How would you link the additional information to the file and catalog the whole file content ? If there are any additional plug-ins required, please advise. Thanks to you all.

Mandrake upgrade (8.1 -> 8.2) , can't connect to Zope

Hi, I used to have Zope running ok as PCGI "behind Apache", under Linux Mandrake 8.1 After an upgrade to Mandrake 8.2, when I connect to Zope (same URL as before) I get this: ------------------- ! I tried the files there and they still can't be found. Has anybody successfully installed PIL in Zope 2.5.1 under win32? Object visibility...?

Help! I have a python script, which calls a dtml-method, which invokes a zpt. The dtml-method is constructing an HTML email for me, and the zpt is the body of the email. I want to be able to have the dtml method use different page templates, so I can send different pages (each of these is a report). So for this I have a <dtml-var email>, and <dtml-var "_[reportid]"> variables. By scrounging around the web, and looking at other source, and some docs, I've gotten some of my DTML/email needs handled. But I'm stuck now. When I try to execute my python script, I get a KeyError on the page template I'm trying to load, even though the page template is in the same directory as the dtml-method. So, for example, the dtml-method is called 'sendreport', and the zpt I wish to send is called 'salessummary'. In the python script, I have this: args = {} args["email"] = container.get_recipient_list() args["reportid"] = "salessummary" container.sendreport(None, context.REQUEST, args) Firstly - I'm not sure why the 'None, context.REQUEST' arguments come first when invoking the DTML method, though it seems to work in another case I have, and I got this from some presumably working code. Can anyone point me to documentation on how a python script is supposed to invoke a DTML method? Secondly, when I do this, I get a KeyError on 'salessummary' - even though it's sitting in the same directory as the DTML method. This is *really* frustrating, as this seems to be counterintuitive behavior (based on Zope's hierarchy rules). crashing zope and Redhat 7.2

I'm trying to set up a webserver on a Redhat 7.2 Intel server. At first I installed Zope 2.3 . Every time I tried to ftp to the server, the zope server crashed. Looking at zope.org, I found I should look for the correct python version and upgrade to zope 2.5. Now I got zope 2.5.1 installed. Whenever I am working at www.server.at/manage (for example creating a new user or a new folder) the server crashes and I have to reboot the whole system. Not only zserver crashes, the Redhat 7.2 crashes (no access with the console or network). I never(!!) experienced, that a linux computer crashes completely, I always thought only windows computer do this. Namespaces, ZPublisher, DocumentTemplate question

Hi! I've got a product that inherits from Folder, and creates some magic "content" by overriding __bobo_traverse__. Now I've got the problem that I cannot access the "magic" items from within a DocumentTemplate like in <dtml-var special>. The interesting thing is, that I've overloaded __getattr__ and __getitem__, and it seems both are never called. (Actual code snippets at the end) So I'm wondering how DocumentTemplates (and say Page Templates) access the items and properties?
