Inhibiting acquisition for virtual hosting?

I'm using the Zope SiteRoot and Apache mod_rewrite configured as described in the zope documentation as a front-end for several virtual zope sites. I just noticed that I'm getting some search engine hits on one zope site, which should have been destined for one of the other zope sites. It turns out that somehow the search engine got the url with the prefix of one site, followed by the root folder name of the other site, so another view of the other site came up in the wrong place under the first site, thanks to acquisition. Is there a way to nip acquisition in the bud when doing virtual hosting, so it doesn't walk up past the virtual host SiteRoot? Has this been fixed in recent versions of Zope? I'm running an older version of Zope on that server. Can I just upgrade or install some cool product in order to fix the problem? Thanks a lot for the help! -Don

Maik, I understand how to do every part except: - set this as the smtphost of MailHost-object Im not having much luck, with Google, finding anything on how to access the MailHost's objects attributes . Im assuming I will have to do this from a python script? I have started to pick through the MailHost.py module of the MailHost product. Any suggestions. python script executing twice?

I have an 'Add Item' form which allows the user to add item information, as well as upload a file. I have a python script that processes the form, but I'm getting some weird behavior because it seems to be executing twice. I know this because it gives me an integrity error; meaning, it has executed my insert query twice. I feel there is something wrong with my script because when I comment out the block that processes the image upload (in boldface red below), I don't get the integrity error. In addition, when I test the script in the 'Test' section, it works. I would appreciate any ideas you may have. The code is pasted below. applets and Zope?

I've been trying to get an exemplar to work and could use a bit of advice. The applet and associated Java mechanisms are stored in the external file system and made visible to Zope through the External Filesystem product. The Java Applet and associate HTML are stored in a DTML Document and referenced by a DTML method that renders it using <dtml-var>. It sorta works, but the applet can't seem to find some of the Java Classes it needs, even thought they appear in the external file system. I have codebase, code, and archive set correctly. I have a Zope External File System folder, XXX, that contains the applet, some supporting classes, and an archive. The actual HTML code referencing the applet is also stored there. In the applet, codebase is set to the Zope URL of the folder: http://...../XXX/ code is set to the parent Java class foo.class and archive is set to the URL of the archive http://....../XXX/foo.jar The html code invoking the applet is called with a normal dtml-var (name, not expr). It appears to render properly and sets off the Java system, invokes foo.class, and then dies with a NoClassDefFound error. The class is clearly present at the same level as foo.class, but apparently something has confused the reference mechanism. I've not used applets in the Zope environment before. I am not sure whether what I'm doing is the right thing--clearly there is something wrong since the Java system can't find the right stuff. Is there an applet how-to? What should I try next? The output from the Java console (Netscape 4.7) is not all that useful...

For some reason, uPortal resembles the kind of framework I thought Zope was when I decided to use Zope for our apps, about 2 years ago. We have invested a lot into Zope and the LMS application we have built which , based on my (very) biased impression, is one of the most complete LMS's in use in Sweden so far ;). We are not likely to drop Zope and replace it with uPortal just yet; instead we will probably try to do what Paul Browning has suggested, use Zope as a content driver/channel in uPortal. Accsessing the folder above

Hi! I'm trying to display all folders in the folder above my product(derived from a folder) in a tree. It must be something like this: <dtml-tree branches_expr="Subfolder.objectValues(['Folder'])"> ... </dtml-tree> The problem is, that this doesn't work. I search something for "Subfolder", which includes the folder above. It works with the name of the Folder, but I want to use the product in every folder without changing it every time.
