sessions and disabled cookies

I think this is a lost cause, but I have the following problem. I want to use sessions to store a 'flash-enabled' true or false value so I know what content to serve up. No problem so far. If the SESSION object doesn't have a 'flash' key and there is nothing in the request (query string), I want to redirect to a detection page that then sends the user on to either a flash enabled or disabled page. Still no problem. The problem is, if the user is blocking cookies, then they'll be forced through this procedure *every* time they follow a link on my site :-(. I can't use the urlencode() method as links will be embedded in content and my authors are not smart enough to do this. Is there any way I can tell server side if the user is blocking my cookies? cheers, tim

Zope IIS VirtualHostMonster

Hi everybody, I am trying to run zope behind the IIS. I set up the virtual directory in IIS that maps to zope, but it returns my zope root index_html page? Ram cache and ZPT

So Im fine tuning my Plone site, by putting some ram caching on. So i customized two objects about_slot and links_slot (both page templates) and put them in ram cache. I then hit the a page a few times, no hits to the cache, it seems these pages are being rendered every time. Basically lslot is passed through as a string in the main template for each slot, to the following code, so for example here/about_slot/macros/aboutBox. <metal:block use-macro="python:path(lslot)"> This is Zope 2.5.1. Enhanced Site Development

Hi, I wand to ask you about your opinion about developing web sites enhanced with manage like system (for example: user can add a folder or file, delete a folder or file, rename ..., cut ..., copy ... and paste... - without even see the management interface). Is Zope prepare for this kind of things or is it thought to be used so? I mean, I already made such enhancements and for example for Copy I wanted to extend Zope manageCopy from OFS.CopySupport and what came out only extension couldn't be named, because I had to copy 10% of the original's function code in my function and I haven't already treat any raised exception. Is it Zope build for such extensions? what do you think? How should this be done?! ZOPE site migration

What is the best way to migrate a ZOPE 2.5.1 web site from one Solaris box to another. We have our test site ready for production release and need to bring it into production environment. We could build the ZOPE instance on the production box, install new products and import from test and export to production... but... is there a way to migrate the entire site, i.e. copy ZOPE instance dir and reconfig the paths to certain scripts?
