Else branch for Page Template conditions

Hi, while looking for examples using tal:condition I just find solutions for an else branch. For instance I want to do something like that <span tal:condition="options/name | nothing" tal:content="options/name">Print here variable name.</span> If variable "name" exists print it but I'm seeking for something like else print "name does not exist" Even better would be a method to set variable name to a default value if it does not exist before the test above and print the stuff unconditionally. Here's my 5 minute take on this, and I don't consider myself very knowledgeable at the moment, so... 0. Yes, zope and the cmf would be very appropriate for this. 1. After building an Intranet with cmf1.1, I would definitely recommend plone - much easier out of the box experience. 2. Don't allow anonymous to join the portal (security tab from the root of your portal) 3. I'm not terribly sure how to do agentA.propertyportal.com, but search the archives for sub portals, or have something like apache rewrite rules point agentA.propertyportal.com to a page that shows only agentA items. Something like agentA.propertyportal.com -> index_html?agent=agentA. index_html would have a method(s) to use the zcatalog, showing only agentA properties. 4a. Modify the image object to store information about a property (goto portal_types, create a new type based on image, rename the existing properties, create new view and edit methods). May also use the CMFPhoto product - I haven't used it before, just the photo product, which I like. It allows for image resizing, so the agents could upload any sized image, and have the image displayed to users in a consistent size. 4b. Or create a new product that has more properties (as in zope properties, not land) than the default image type provides. CMFPhoto may support this without creating a product - the Photo product does. Python is pretty easy, it is the integration with zope that is sometimes confusing (for me anyway). Definitely read the zope developers guide and the zope book before you do much else. Regarding the (lack of) documentation, there is a wide variety of cmf docs out there, just mostly in the mailing lists, so it is disorganized. But fortunately the list can point you in the right direction, as you have already seen... ZPT and SESSION variable

My intend was something like this: session=context.REQUEST.SESSION session['var'] = 'variable' if REQUEST is not None: return container['test.html'](REQUEST) But may be I could foreward var in any other way and this I would not neet the SESSIOn variable. ZODB - cleaning up mistakes

In a moment of stupidity, while trying to get rid of an object gone horribly wrong (I couldn't get into my zmi for some reason, with "Attribute Error" on a particular object that *did* exist), I did: >>> del(app.stupid_object) >>> get_transaction().commit() Well, of course that didn't fix my zmi problem, and now I couldn't get at the offending object... so I did >>> app.stupid_object="anything" >>> app._delObject("stupid_object") >>> get_transaction().commit() ... and now it's gone, and I can get into the ZMI. Now for the question: the old stupid_object was folderish and contained a lot of subobjects. What happens to these objects? Are they still floating around in my ZODB since I never did any kind of proper _delObject() on their container? I just did del() on it, and I don't know if that takes care of removing sub-objects from the ZODB (seems doubtful). ZSQL question - probably a stupid one!

Hi, I have am using ZSQL against a postgres database using psgcopg. I have a set of queries which are doing inserts then the last one is doing something like this; SELECT currval('blahseq') I want to be able to set an object name for this value which is different to the field name that the SQL will return.
